Can you just imagine, breaking into WDW after about 5 years of it being abandoned? You probably can't even picture it can you?

This thought crossed my mind after discovering "life after people" on the History Channel. Amazingly there are neat pictures all over the internet... I would commit suicide than to have to see this if it ever really happened!! :dazzle:

Although I can't wait for it to happen to Stitch's Great Escape and the Imagination ride, I'd be the first to get the pictures!! :D

Okay I had to go back and look at these again because they are just that eerie. If things ever got that way, I doubt any of us would even be around to know about it. I did see part of something like this on TV once. Reminds me of I Am Legend with Will Smith.

One of the saddest things about those pictures, is that even after humans are extinct and vegetation has taken over, that stinkin' HAT is still blocking the Chinese Theatre at DHS.

It would be a world of creepy fun...I'd so move in.

I don't read them, but I believe this is the theme of the "Kingdom Keepers" books - post-apocalypic Disney parks.

I see it everyday on a much smaller scale;

There is a small abandon Go-cart/mini-golf/ amusement park in my area that I pass everyday going to and from work. It’s been closed for 7-8 years now and over the years I have watched the various obstacles such as a rocket ship, windmill and pink elephant fall over and start to decay as the vegetation slowly over grows the tracks.

The park is on a nice piece of property and I have been expecting to see a bulldozer leveling the place and construction of a strip mall, super market or chain restaurant take place, but nothing yet, perhaps when the economy improves.

I have read all 3 Kingdom Keepers and have pre-ordered the 4th. They are not at all about post-apocalypic Disney parks. However; they are very cool and give some insight into the parks. You look at them in a way you never have before. Very cool!

Anyone played Epic Mickey? That's kind of a dark "Tim Burton" abandoned take on Disney attractions. Reminded me of the game when i looked at this topic. Pretty cool game, but creepy.

No! That should never happen!

Wow, those pictures surely are a massive downer:( and I hate them:mad:. They are so depressing. May it never happened. Though I seriously doubt the Disney family would ever abandon such a masterpiece of a place. However, I must admit, every year during hurricane season, my family worries if WDW will be spared. Now, WDW has gotten hit with Hurricanes and severe stormes. I've even been there during some of those storms and have personallly seen some of the damages myself. But WDW has such a great crew, that they are quickly picking and tiding things up for their guests. They waste no time, and everything is done in such a way not to cause fear for their guest. It truly is the most MAGICAL place on earth.:sohappy:

After 5 years SSE is still on fire?

It looks like it recently fell under missle attack.

Very sad but keep in mind that no matter how bad things get, one day the sun is going to blow up.:animwink:

We need time for things to happen.
Creepy but...

Cool. Love apocalyptic type scenarios for movies and books, not that I would want to ever see WDW in this state (or anything else for that matter) but
it's still cool to see. :)

Those are just depressing!! I have seen that show too and it is very interesting. Those things always just seem so sad, even ghosts towns are sad to me. A shell of what once was...I think enough of us could pool our money to keep Disney from going under...we kinda like it. :animwink:

I do think a time will come where humans no longer roam the Earth. I have thought about what the Disney parks will look like when that days comes. Interesting pictures.

Exactly. Not to mention the monorail was in route when civilization came to an end according to that picture. I suspect foul play rather than a natural disaster. Not to point any fingers at who might have carried out such an attack on a place like Epcot, but I will definitely be keeping a sharp eye on the upper mgmt. at Universal. :lookaroun
