Whoa, that's so cool. I love Disney (duh) and I love post apocalyptic/zombie/plague stories soooo.... :) I would totally pull a "Zombieland" and head to WDW if I survived the apocalypse!

*NERD ALERT!!*

I used to play a role playing game called Rifts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifts) which is kind of like Dungeons and Dragons only in a future post-apocalyptic Earth. Anyway, Rifts has a boat load of source books giving you details on different parts of the world (Rifts England, Rifts Africa, etc), and one of the books talks about Florida. Beside over half of it being lost to the rising ocean, there's a small section dealing with a small group of travelers cutting through dense jungle only to stumble across what they describe is a "fantasy castle" all overgrown and beat up. They can't for the life of them figure out why anyone would build something like that in the middle of nowhere. They also talk about how they found "underground tunnels" leading all over the place, but they had to get out quickly because nasty creepy-crawly things have taken over the tunnels as their home.

wow

that Japan place looks too much like Magic Kingdom .. the jungle cruise.. the main street.. too much like Magic Kingdom.. and its scary..

but should the economy go into a depression, YOU could have this .

we don't even know how close to TILT that we came with these bankers and their greed..

and now oil is at 108 a barrel..and we, YOU AND I, paid record bonuses to the wall street gang, "because its in their contracts".. and with 90% of the wealth being controlled by 400 families in this country,

it all could still happen..

You just watch the money being taken away from the middle class, like here in Wisconsin and in Ohio.. what people don't realize is that when UNION WORKERS get paid, so do the rest of the town, just to keep up with the unions..

you remove this income, and all vacations stop.. restaurant visits stop.. people like me cut back on their cable, or insurance or find a new insurance man..

We all would like to say, THIS CAN'T HAPPEN... You just don't know how close we came two and a half years ago, for it TO HAPPEN..

You know, it amazes me... we've seen pictures of certain abandoned parts of WDW such as the Food Rocks theater, the upstairs ImageWorks, Wonders of Life pavilion and such...

I am here to wonder why nobody made a picture of life after disney on JIIWF, or SGE, or Sound's Dangerous!! Those would be happy pictures!! :sohappy:

Great pictures. Obviously I wouldn't want to see them become reality, but there is a certain macabre appeal to imagining "what if?"

But I have to correct the OP. If all of this actually happened because of a "Life After People" scenario, you wouldn't be around to do yourself in. ;)

So I guess if this were to really happen it would give a whole new meaning to Haunted mansion and Tower of Terror huh, lol.

These pictures are great works of art but I have actually seen what happens when a decent size park "dies" first hand. Jazzland/Six Flags here in new Orleans was never reopened after Hirricane Katrina and I was part of a crew there in the following months to see the damages. I've been back a few times since then just to walk around and its pretty creepy inside...especailly at night.

Here is a grea video shot just a few months ago of how the park sits today, about 5 1/2 years after being closed.

Here is a website with more pics and tells a little about it.

The economy doesnt have to bust for this to happen. God forbid but let a huge hurricane hit Central Florida and this could happen. Could you imagine?

That would be awful if that happened to Disney but I don't think that a hurricane would do that for one reason. Most damage from hurricanes is the storm surge from the ocean. Orlando is too far inland.
