LOL…yes, Timmay is just what you think it means, as Tim is my name and friends and family alike just love to say “Timmaayyyyyyy”!!
Anyway, you did take a jab at us Rockies fans…all 12 of us, if I remember right. I am sure the Red Sox would have been able to fill in those empty seats in Arizona, but as you pointed out, Red Sox Nation is very big, so there are many fans living in Arizona that would have bought those up, just as Yankee and Cob fans. But those three teams are unique. I think you would agree in that fact. Tell the 50,000 plus that sat in freezing rain last Sunday for the entire game, even though the outcome wasn’t in doubt past the 6th, that they aren’t fans of baseball. Have the Rockies had the attendance they had the first ten years? Nope, but you have to be a part of this community or a fan of the Rockies to know why. People may say they know why, but unless they have lived here, they are full of it.
Like I said earlier, this city is up in arms because of the way the ticket sales were handled today. Thousands of people “stormed the gates” at Coors filed today demanding answers. The police had to shut down traffic within a several block radius of the stadium because of the near riot. Not exactly ho hum fans, I would say.
Now, on to the teams. I am not simply picking the Rockies because they are my team…I am picking them because they are the better team right now. Remember, they have won 21 of their last 22 games, swept (not just won, but swept) 5 of their last 6 series. Their starters have the best ERA in baseball the last month. Their middle relief has shut down everyone the past month as well. Over the past 5 weeks, they are by far the best team in baseball…this year and in the history of the game. Teams like that just don’t start losing 4 games out of 7 to anyone unless something goes tragically wrong. If the Rockies keep playing the way they have, I honestly don’t expect a very exciting, or long, series. But, baseball being as it is (take last years series), the Sox could sweep.
