We rolled out of dinner and went back to the cabin for an early night. We had plans to get up early and go running on deck 4 in the morning. Thor was on one of the movie channels. Dan had been wanted to catch that movie so we watched that and then went to sleep.
On our 2nd sea day (Sunday) we woke up at 6 am to do a long run. We have a 10 mile race coming up in Philadelphia on May 6 and I really wanted to get in a long run while we were on vacation. I had visions of eating myself to death and then trying to drag myself through the 10 miler  We didn't want to get up, but made ourselves! I wanted to hit deck 4 before it became too crowded.
We made it down to deck 4 by 6:45 and there were a few runners. The running track is 0.333 miles long so I had grand plans to try for 10 miles which would be 30 laps :ROFLOL: Yep, I am crazy. Anyway, we start to run and notice some people are running against traffic. Found out they were doing this because maintenance was powerwashing parts of the deck. People were running half way and then turning around where the deck was closed. Ugh....I did not want to run like that.
Change of plans...We went up to Parrot Cay buffet and had breakfast as soon as they opened. After breakfast, we let our breakfast digest a bit and then went to try our run again. This is where the title of my report comes into play.
I took this photo the day before our run, not thinking that it would be very prophetic of things to come!
We started our run and noticed a father with a little boy. The boy was probably about 6 or 7 and the father was trying to teach him how to play shuffleboard. The boy was more interested in wielding the shuffleboard sticks (not sure of the proper term) as ninja staffs! The kid did not want to play shuffleboard! As we ran by, the boy would jump into the running lane nearly jabbing us with the stick. The father was very apologetic and would tell the boy to watch out and stay to the side yadda, yadda, yadda. Do a lap, and the kid would nearly jab us again because he wasn't paying attention. I wonder if the other runners were having this problem because we weren't the only ones out there. The worst time came when we were about to pass, the father told the boy to move to the side and he did. At the last second, as we passed the boy jumped into me and my the wire from my earbuds got wrapped around the stick. Grrrrrr! The kid doesn't care about playing shuffleboard! Do something else with him! The next time we go by they are gone. Oh thank goodness! As we come up the other side, we realize they are not gone, they just moved to the other side of the boat! GAAAAAHHHHH! Doesn't the guy realize the runners are running laps! At this point we decide to call it after doing 3 miles. It was just too dangerous! There were a couple other kids playing and they were fine because they were a little older and aware of their surroundings. I don't blame the boy at all because he wasn't being bad, he just wasn't aware. There were people walking laps, there were people running......TAKE THE STICKS AWAY!!!! PLEASE!!!
I really wish we had been able to run early. It kind of stunk to have a running track but not be able to use it when they clean it in the morning when most people run!!
We went back to the room, showered and changed and went up to deck 9 to find some lounge chairs by the adult pool. Unfortunately we were a little late and they were all taken. We did find some next to the large windows in the adult section and settled down to nap and read. We had lunch at Topsider's buffet.
Looks like I didn't take too many pics today!
