Good evening.

Sad news on my end :(

If some will recall, my grandma passed on last Ectober. Well, it seems like it's my great-grandma's time now. She's been in the hospital for about a week now with a blood clot in her leg. The put her on some Cumiden (sp?) and now she's unresponsive (they think she had a stroke). Oddly, that's pretty much the same thing that happened to my grandma. It doesn't seem like there's too many days left for her :(

Sigh.

It just feels like it's too soon... Way too soon...

Luke I am sorry to hear about this. I will keep ya'll in my prayers.

Though I don't think I've said as much... this is almost the exact same thing that happened to my grandpa. He went in, but had a system-wide failure, of sorts, including a "massive heart attack". He was unresponsive for the last week.

Lots of empathy towards you. :(

P.S. You're one of few people I know that actually have a great-grandma.

P.S.S. The last line of the above post really hits home for my situation as well. The week before, we were having the time of our lives at Olive Garden and went for some ice cream at the corner... the next... well. :(

I just read it.

That's gotta be one of the weirdest threads ever, and it's happened over the course of under 6 hours.

How old is she?
And how old was your grandmom?

Great Goppy is 91.

Goppy was only 64... we think :lookaroun

At least that's what the dates on the funeral program say.

She was actually a great-great-grandma. My cousin has a two year old boy.

We're troopers in my family. Or we just have children real early. I'm not sure :lookaroun

Your grandmom was quite young to go.
But Great Goppy. . . 91 is a nice long lifetime!
Maybe that's why it's easier. It doesn't seem wrong that it's her time.
Just wrong that she has to go at all.

Let's stick with the longevity theory.

Yeah, that's probably one of the main reasons.

She's lived a great life, as well. One of the best. Which is good.

But we could sort of sense a bit of slowing down after Goppy died. Especially when we visited her at Christmas. She wasn't as much as the spunky, nagging old lady that she'd always been. That probably had a lot to do with it.

*shrug*
