She's always been a tough act for him to follow - "A" student - great scholarships, pretty, thin, the whole package. He on the other hand got his father's academic skills and my body type.

Although both my girls are on the same academic level, they differ greatly in the looks department. It's been very difficult for my eldest to have a "Barbie doll" sister. She needs constant reassurance. What does a great job, a winning personality, the sweetest of dispostions, a loving fiance and a million other truly amazing qualities, matter when your sister is beautiful? It's been difficult for her, but through it all it's always been such a blessing that they get along so well. Thank God for that.

The weekend was great! I had a wonderful time! It was so relaxing and just fun.

Me and two of my friends left on Thursday night around 6:30 and we got to the lake at around 9:15 or so, so we played 10 cent skee ball. Then we went home. On Friday, we walked along the strip (which is just like a boardwalk kind of area...lots of shops left over from the 70s) and we ate lunch at this restaurant called Stewart's (I had the BLT! :slurp: ) That afternoon we went shopping at the outlet mall and then made the ever important trip to Wal-mart.

That night we went to this restaurant/bar and sat and my mom and my girls had a drink. We also got to dance in foam! (Which is basically soap bubbles...but it was still a lot of fun...sticky though) Then we went to another restaurant/bar to eat dinner. (A bucket full of fried shimp for me!)

On Saturday my maid of honor came down (she went to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill the night before) and she was a little crabby b/c she thought we weren't going to do what she had planned and spent all this money on...or at least that's what my mom overheard her telling her boyfriend. We went out on the jet ski and had a blast doing that. We also hung out at the pool all afternoon and my mom made us hot dogs for lunch.

That night we went out to a mexican restaurant where I had to do some bachelorette games...which I was at first leary about, but after a while, I became more ok with it. Then later we went to a bar and sang some karaoke.

Then yesterday we hung out at the pool and went out on the jet ski again.

Like I said, overall, it was a great weekend, only bad thing was my best friend's complaining...but one of the problems was she didn't tell anyone else what she had planned and the 3 of us who left on Thurs night had pretty much set the tone that it was just a nice relaxing girl's weekend. (That and my best friend didn't help us clean up the condo...instead she just sat on the bed and looked at us...:fork: )

I will definitely put some pics online later for you guys to see. (Don't worry...they were all ok to see!)

Oh, and sorry it took me a while to type this...I'm at work.

You know, you always hear about Bridezillas, but lately I've been hearing more and more about truly cranky Maid-of-honors.
Don't let her rain on your parade Nibblies! Just keep reminding yourself why you chose her in the first place. (Why was that again?)
Otherwise, sounds like a fun, relaxing weekend!
Glad you enjoyed it!

You're lucky that they do. Mine get along Ok, but there's always the little undercurrents going on - she thinks he's had it a lot easier than she did (she's probably right about that), he thinks she's our favorite (not true - we love them both)

Kids never can understand how parents can't have favorites. . .
until they have kids of their own.
You love them both equally, but because they are different individuals, the way you love them differs.
It's intricate and amazing.

Yeah...sometimes I wonder that too.

Lately she's been really moody and depressing. I honestly think she's depressed, but she doesn't realize it.

What doesn't make sense to me is we did the "suck for a buck" thing...but we had candy necklaces that we wore around our necks. Well she had one person take a piece of candy off her neck and she was like "don't tell my boyfriend"...so what does she do when she get's home? She tells him and he gets furiously upset. (He's a really jealous type of guy...we keep telling her to break up with him...but she won't for some stupid reason.)

She sounds like a ton of fun. :lookaroun
Could she be a wee bit jealous?

I don't think it's jealousy. She's been moody for a while. (truthfully, ever since her first "real" boyfriend and her broke up which was almost 3 years ago.)

Another factor is that her mom doesn't really like her...and I know what you're thinking...yes she does...but my friend was an accident and I think her mom resents her for that. So she also has a lot of issues with her mother.

She just hasn't been herself for a while...she used to be a ton of fun in high school and stuff...but now my friends and I all think that she should see a psychicatrist (sp?) and talk to someone about her problems...but she would flip out at us if we even suggested it.

Sounds a bit serious.
I hope she works this out and doesn't bring it to your wedding.

me too...:(
But I don't think it will work out any time soon. This is an ongoing thing, but I think she'll be ok in Jamaica.

And if she would have just relaxed this weekend, she would have had a great time just like the rest of us did.

Got to get back to work - the house is still a mess and it's nearly 4 o'clock! (Sounds like a country-western song, doesn't it?)

Oh well, try not to let it bother you.
So . . .
you are getting so close!!!!!
I'm excited for you!
How does your dress look after the alterations?
Do you feel like a bride in it?
