Wow! Great world themed to Pinocchio! Here I was thinking that brand-new worlds meant different characters, but we have a few of the old characters from previous games in here as well.

Anyway, remember in the KH3 thread when I proposed several magic-making Heartless for that game? Well, how about these types for this game:

  • BRICK MAMBO: Specializing in fire-based attacks
  • GOLD OLDIE: Specializing in gas clouds that confuse players and make some attacks miss
  • CYAN IMPROMPTU: Specializing in both blizzard and aero-themed attacks, a cross between the Blue Rhapsody, Emerald Blues, Sapphire Punk and Spring Metal
  • PEARL FUNK: Specializing in attacks that reduce levels, this game's version of the Striped Aria
What do you think of those ideas?
Yeah, we have a few returning worlds, among some new worlds with familiar characters.

Right now, I've been updating enemies really slowly because in KHIII, I ended up having close to 100 different enemies I think, when in reality, there are only like 40-60 different enemies in the game. So, I'm being a little bit more cautious when adding enemies. I've decided to only make a fe classic ones from KH 1, 2 and 3 appear, then having the rest be new enemies from KH4. These spell-casting enemies will probably make the cut.

OMYGOD. That was fantastic! I really can't wait for the conclusion with Pleasure Island and (maybe) Monstro! Maybe it can be an outside-of-the-whale battle to make it different than the other times?

Thanks so much guys! Pleasure Island will definitely be in the 2nd visit, where as I'm still on the fence about Monstro returning. It could work, but I have to find someway to do it. They're definitely not getting swallowed again. Too much trouble to go through those caves of intestines.

Two questions:

First, will we see the return of the Olympus Coliseum? I think we need to, as it's a staple of the series.

Second, will we see the returns of at least one of any of the following: Atlantica, Beast's Castle/Chateau de France, Agrabah, the Pride Lands?

1) Yes, but completely different.

2) Can't say for sure right now. Why do you ask?

After returning to the World Map, a new Gummi route becomes available, opposite of the Mountainous Trails Gummi route. The new route is titled Topside Turmoil. After successfully completing the Gummi route, you gain access to the world.

Notre Dame

Upon arriving in this world, Sora, Donald and Goofy find themselves arriving in the midst of a large celebration, known as the Topsy Turvy Festival. The townfolk are out and about and the Topsy Turvey Courtyard is awash with many colorful tents, people sporting various masks, and streamers and confetti filling the air. Large banners hang across the courtyard, attached to the French-style buildings. Clopin, a town gypsy, welcomes Sora,Donald and Goofy to the Topsy Turvy Celebration. The crowd is filled with so much activity, with so many festivities going on, and the best part, not a Heartless or an Unknown in sight!

Then, they all see it, the grand Cathedral of Notre Dame, which raises high above the rest of the town. In the center of the building, is a large circular stained glass window. Above it, are two copulas, where the church bells are located. The building is adorned with several statuettes, stone gargoyles and stained glass portraits. The presence of the building alone draws them nearer to it. They leave the courtyard and enter the Steps of the Cathedral. On the steps, a lonesome well is located. Soon after, Donald can’t help but walk up the stone steps and push the large wooden door open, stepping inside the dark, echoing building.

Inside, a few flickering candles offer minimal dim lighting, as the team sees the glorious cathedral inside. The large circular stained glass window sends rays of color across the cathedral, as the sun is just hitting directly on it. A few townspeople can be seen, offering praise. The slightest sound could make the largest echo in this large, dim, but beautiful cathedral. Suddenly, they hear the loud ringing of the bells, overhead. At the back of the cathedral, they see a door, which they presume, ascends up to the bell tower. They take the initiative and enter the door.

They arrive at the Spiral Staircase, a lone winding set of stone steps which leads up to the top of the cathedral. At the end of the winding staircase, there is a long hallway. At the end of the hallway, there is a burning fireplace. Next to the fireplace, there is a small dark alcove, next to a wooden door. Sora, Donald and Goofy hear voices coming from the other side of the door. They eavesdrop and they hear one voice telling the other to stay protected in the cathedral, forever. As the voice draws nearer, they hide in the dark alcove. The door opens and the person steps out. They only see the backside of the tall, thin figure, as he descends down the staircase. One he is out of eye sight, they quietly sneak to the door and arrive in the Loft.

Inside, they find the bell ringer of Notre Dame, Quasimodo. He’s quickly taken aback by the unfamiliar characters in his wooden loft. By examining the area, Sora spots a carving table, three rather peculiar looking gargoyles and a cloth which seems to cover another part of the loft. Quasimodo states that Frollo took him under his wing and has forced him to stay away from the outside world, inside the Bell Tower forever. He’s longed for just one day in the outside world. Sora, Donald and Goofy think that today is the perfect day for him to explore.

Quasimodo dresses himself in a cloak and gets ready to leave. Use the save point in the corner of the Loft. They exit onto the Stone Balcony, a stone ladings which ends off on a sloped path down the side of the cathedral. At the edge of the path, one of the stone gargoyles seems to come alive and block off any chance of passage.

-Boss: Cathedral Guardian-

The Cathedral Guardian attacks with a large stone axe. The best way to avoid the monster’s attacks are to keep a clear distance away from the gargoyle. If you’re lucky, you might be able to fend off the monster if you attack at the same time as him. If this does happen, quickly counterattack and continue this strategy. At the end of the battle, the Cathedral Guardian breaks apart and crumbles.

Now that the monster is out of the way, they safely make their way down into the courtyard and start to celebrate in the festivities. Everything seems so new and unexplored to Quasimodo. Frollo is seen sitting on his high chair, under his tent. On a horse, Phoebus, one of Frollo’s patrol men, is seen. As, Sora, Donald and Goofy explore the area, they find Esmeralda’s Tent. Inside, they meet a beautiful gypsy woman, who greets them, along with her goat, Djali. She’s about to perform. In the tent, there is a save point.

Back outside, in the courtyard, Clopin announces that they will now crown the king of fools. He introduces Esmeralda, who appears in a flash of red smoke. They announce that the person with the most hideous mask will win the title. Esmeralda playfully pulls Quasimodo up onto the stage and pulls on his face, realizing it’s not a mask, but his actual face. The crowd is horrified, but Esmeralda looks beyond the appearance of the poor bell ringer. Frollo is outraged that Quasimodo disobeyed him. Suddenly, a sporadic burst of Unknown appear, crashing the festival and forcing the team into a fight.

After the battle, Esmeralda disappears, leaving Frollo accusing her of witchcraft. In the midst of all the hectic events, Sora, Donald and Goofy grab Quasimodo and head inside the cathedral. Inside, Quasi makes his way back up to his Loft. They find Esmeralda and Phoebus. Frollo arrives and states that they will be arrested, but Phoebus says they claim sanctuary. Afterwards, Frollo approaches Sora, Donald, Goofy and Esmeralda and tells them that they will be arrested if they leave the cathedral, for Esmeralda is accused of being a witch and the others are accused of helping her escape. He leaves, leaving the others, to venture up the bell tower. Phoebus joins the party.

They meet back up with Quasimodo in the bell tower, where he shows Esmeralda and the others his wood carving collection of the town and many familiar faces, within it. He then pulls back a cloth over a covered room and the numerous bells of the cathedral come into view. Quasimodo grabs onto one of the ropes, as they ring joyously. They all enjoy the spectacle before them. However, they must escape from the cathedral. Frollo would be furious if he found them up here. With the help of Quasimodo, they decide to escape.

They descend back down the Stone Balcony, as a few Heartless gargoyles spring to life. Quickly take care of them before continuing down the sloped path. Soon after, they arrive back in the courtyard. Just as they escape, a large Unknown monster materializes before them.

-Boss: -
This Unknown creature resembles a gypsy in appearance, but a grotesque monster in physical fighting abilities. The monster can cast a spell over the team, which will make them become hypnotized, as the player looses control of the character. They automatically move into the monster, as it attacks them. After the attack, they snap out of the lustful trance.

After the monster finishes her luring attack, it’s the best time to move in for some powerful moves. Fire and blizzard spells are effective during the battle, but the best way to deal damage is from physical attacks. Make sure your item slots are equipped with Potions, Hi-Potions and Ethers. After the fight, disintegrates, leaving the heart of the Unknown monster behind. The heart falls to the ground, where it shatters.

After the battle, they have successfully made it out of the cathedral, unbeknownst to Frollo. Esmeralda and the team thank Phoebus and Quasimodo for helping them escape. Suddenly, Sora’s Keyblade starts to react to something. In the stained glass window of the cathedral, bits and pieces of the stain glass start to slowly morph together. The pieces draw nearer and near until they connect, revealing the Keyhole. Sora point the Keyblade toward the keyhole. Then, a spark of light emits from the Keyblade, sealing the keyhole. Afterwards, the stained glass pieces dissolve, leaving no trace of the keyhole behind.

Sora, Donald and Goofy decide to head out. Quasimodo quickly says goodbye before quickly hurrying back up to his loft. Esmeralda hands Sora a necklace, with a map of Paris engraved in it. On the map, there are several designated points on it. Sora doesn’t understand the meaning of it, but Esmeralda just winks at him. Esmeralda and Phoebus wave goodbye, as Sora, Donald and Goofy start making their way out of the courtyard.

Sora obtains the Thunder Spell.

Sora obtains the Golden Bells Keyblade.

Jiminy’s Journal- Notre Dame

Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive in Notre Dame, in the midst of the large Topsy Turvy Celebration. They noticed the beautiful Notre Dame cathedral, where inside they met the bell rinder, Quasimodo, who longed to escape from this loft and explore the outside world. Quasi had spent years hidden within his tower, by Frollo, the strict priest who took Quasi under his wing.

With the encouragement of Sora and the others, Quasi escaped and took part in the festival. During the celebration, they met Phoebus, head guard to Frollo and Esmeralda, a beautiful gypsy. However, the Heartless and Unknown crashed the celebration.

After the attack, they were almost arrested by Frollo, but with some persuasive talking by Phoebus, the team, along with Esmeralda were able to get away free. They reunited with Quasimodo in the bell tower, where they saw the hundreds of bells ring throughout the cathedral. Soon after, they had to escape before Frollo found them.

They successfully escaped the cathedral and made it out into the village. There, the keyhole was revealed in the stained glass window of the cathedral. Sora sealed the keyhole with the Keyblade. Esmeralda handed Sora a necklace with a map of Paris in it. They all gleefully said goodbye, as Sora, Donald and Goofy made their way back to the Gummi Ship.

Back on the World Map, a new destination is available; however the team finds a Gummi Ship signal coming from Radiant Garden.

Quickly make your way through the Marketplace and through the Town Plaza. If you want to you can explore all of the open Marketplace shops and stop up on some new items and equipment. Also, you can take the now-operational Electric Transit System to the Town Plaza.

Upon arriving at the Town Plaza, make your way to Cid’s House. Inside, Cid and Yuffie are waiting with something special for Sora. From behind Yuffie’s back, she reveals the book of Winnie the Pooh. Sora is so excited to see it! He hasn’t seen this book in the longest time. They explain that during the destruction of Radiant Garden, when Merlin’s House was destroyed 3 years ago, this book was not an exception to the damage and a few pages have been torn from the book. However, before worrying about that, Sora wants to reunite with Pooh. Cid puts the book on a pedestal and Sora opens it. Beams of light engulf Sora and bring him straight into the pages of the storybook.

100 Acre Wood

Sora lands on the edge of a large storybook, which displays the landscape of the 100 Acre Wood. From what Sora can see, there are four blurted out areas on the page. However, Sora can see one area, called Pooh’s House. He goes closer to examine the scene and he enters.

He enters the lovely forest area of Pooh’s House, which is surrounded in thick, beautiful trees. In from of Pooh’s large enclosed tree-home, is a log in front of a campfire. On the log, is none other than Winnie the Pooh, himself. Sora and Pooh are so happy to see eachother and instantly embrace. Sora takes a seat next to Pooh, while Pooh seems to be pondering something.

Sora asks Pooh what’s wrong and in reply, Pooh says, he feels like pieces of 100 Acre Wood are moving away and he can’t find them. Sora understands what he means. Pooh explains that he gets to see his friends every now and then, but then they just disappear. Sora promises Pooh that he’ll help the 100 Acre Woo be put back together again. Upon exiting the book, it is explained dthat Sora must find the Torn Pages scattered across many worlds in order to piece the 100 Acre Wood back together again.

Now, you can either return to the World Map or continue to explore Radiant Garden, but we’ll return to the World Map for the time being.

... ... like the 7 deadly sins! Great tie-in. But the Unknowns have hearts...? Isn't that, like, agains moral codes to kill something that has a heart? Hmmm.... I will ponder.

Anyways, great idea for a world. There's so much story left in Notre Dame, though. Are you planning on NOT finishing the story of the world and having it continue in a future game or what? It'll be hard to pull it together at the end.

And Pooh! Pooh's awesome. But didn't he just have a story revolving around missing pages?

Great work as always!

I didn't think that Pooh's crew would return again! They certainly didn't in KH3. Why do they appear in this game, but not that one?

Straying away from world repetitiveness. Offers good balance, storyline and suprsie when they do pop up, just like they had done. There will be a lot of suprises and twists here and there.

(And the destrutive turning point in the last game offered a good solution as to how the pages were torn from the book AGAIN for this game.)

Unknowns have hearts and souls. No consciences.

There will be world revisits, so whatever remainding story there is for Notre Dame, among the other worlds, will be solved then. Everything WILL be pulled together, rest assured.

Right now, there's not much to do in 100 Acre Wood or regarding Pooh because the storybook pages are mssing. Once the storybook pages start getting collected, more of 100 Acre Wood will become available.

Thanks!
