I'm not so sure its a cover. From some close up pics I have seen it almost looks like some kind of tar/sealant. Not sure if there was a repair made to that section.
So really I'm not sure what it is, I just know it's been there for a long time now.

^Agreed..It definitely looks like something spilled and ran down the side. My guess is they will leave it until the dome is repainted.

I started reading pg. 1-3 and then 12-14 and I was wondering if jaun did say anything bout what's goin on other then the what people were saying of a new track and new cars or something and could someone inform me if I missed anything. Thanks!

I think we saw in the videos that the cars had been painted.
Red, blue/purple, and white come to mind.

Oh, and that MNSSHP commercial is HORRIBLE. It's Mickey's party, but there's absolutely NO SIGN of Mickey!
If kids ever saw this commercial they'd know nothing about it. Perhaps if they saw a familiar face like Mickey, villains, other fab 5, ect. they'd want to go. UGH. WDW, your commercials (looking through the youtubes) used to be pretty good and especially timeless.

This commercial makes me want to visit even though MGM is now DHS, there's an all new 4th park, Mickey's Starland is being demo'd, Body Wars is long gone, Star Tours is ugrading, and EO has been gone for about a decade. Aww, what classics.

Was there in August, and they look like they could be the welding cables mentioned earlier. They are some type of wires, not shadows or tarps.

Thank you. I agree. From that distance they would appear flat but you can clearly see the cables run under the gap of the buildings "crown" and extend further.
I agree they are welding cables. But the could also be for a massive lighting plan. If the cables were painted the same color as the building they would hardly be visible. So maybe they are permanent.
But I believe they are welding cables and electric cables for hoists etc.
The opening everyone sees from inside the mountain is one of the roof hatches which has to stay open because that is where the cables run or did at the time the pics were taken.

I can only hope they are for lighting. Not likely, but possible. We need to dispatch someone to the top of the world to see if they are still there.
