James Cameron, Joe Rohde, Tom Staggs and Disney executives touring Animal Kingdom

They have some of the best minds in the business working for them. I mean after all, "Disney set's the standards which all others follow" (Modern Marvels: Walt Disney World) :)

The fact that camera crews were present made me think that this could make an amazing reality TV series. Especially since these projects take several years. Plus you have all these larger than life personalities and the backdrop of DAK.

It is a great chance also to teach young people why all aspects of learning are important as they will all be necessary on a project like this. Even budgets unfortunately.:lol:

By the time it opens it'll need to have 2 ground breaking ride systems to counter Potter.:animwink:

That's not necessarily true. Potter phase 2 hasn't even been greenlit yet. There's no doubt it's going to happen, but before 2016? It doesn't look like it.

If you guys want more details on this, you might want to do a search on Twitter, this was all over Twitter yesterday. If you're in DAK today or tomorrow, keep an eye out for them as they're expected to be around for a few days.

Feel free to post here if you have anymore information. Searching through Twitter for reliable information is a needle in a haystack search.

It is very possible. Remember all the shows they did on Everest?

Not that it is bad now but it could be more like DisneySea in the long term IMO.

I have always thought that the one park that has the potential to be the most amazing of all Disney parks is DAK. The cohesive theme and immersiveness of it goes above and beyond.

DinoRama, in my opinion, was a huge step backwards...but Everest took a giant leap forward again.

Someone else will need to post it here. A team of Clydesdale horses driven by a crew of knit hat wearing fools, listening to Coldplay on an iPod, with one hand on their iPad couldn't drag me to Twitter. What a totally useless and inane site. "Let me see if I can let the whole world know where I am and what I am doing, right now." or "O....M...G!!! Lindsay Lohan just got a latte at Starbucks!!" :hurl::hurl:

Where's the "gun blowing my brains out" smiley?

Possible proof that this may mean several changes to DAK as part of this development such as reconfigurations and/or moving, adding to, or even eliminating some existing attractions to create a better theme park overall. Not that it is bad now but it could be more like DisneySea in the long term IMO.

What?!?!?!?

Where in the world do you see "possible proof" that this may mean several changes to DAK such as reconfigs or moving or removing attractions?

Does EVERY single post of yours have to be filled with far-reaching suggestions not based in reality? Can't you just once surpress your need for attention by going against the grain for no reason at all?

How about this: The main players for this project were in the park to look at available expansion locations, and examine existing areas of the park for compare/contrast. That's it. It's that simple.

You constantly make everything out to be a conspiracy. I tire of you.

I'm going to get flamed for saying this, but Rohde has adopted a very Walt-esque pose in that picture- arms out, mind clearly working and thinking about how to make this work. You can just sense the energy and creativity he exudes, even in that photo.

Why would you get flamed for saying that? That seems to be exactly what he's doing. Pitching the "sell". :)

Definitely. Is there any better pitch man at Disney? He is right up there. He could convince you that anything is a good idea. It's a good job that his projects turn out so good!

Because I dared mention another human in the same breath as Walt, of course!

But, I mean...

Doesn't this:

Remind you of this?:

Let's pump the brakes.

Rohde is a decent Imagineer (great compared to most of what we have now), but let's hold off on the Walt comparison.

Does that look like Meg Crofton (in white) behind Tom Staggs to anyone else? Hadn't heard it reported that she was there. I'm a little surprised, to be honest.

Haha, I know what you mean. It seems most of the details are now here or on the DPB. There were a few people that spotted them in DAK yesterday, but didn't give a whole lot of info. I would assume since it's on the DPB that the rumor about them being in the parks today and tomorrow probably isn't true, as the DPB post would sort of "blow their cover" as it alerts the rabid fans that they're/they were there.

Hate it as much as you want, I see a large portion of Disney news there before anywhere else. To be fair, I think your hate is based largely on misunderstanding. What you describe certainly is not what is discussed among the Disney-community on Twitter. The conversations are generally informative, and there is almost no nastiness there as compared to forums. Maybe if you followed a bunch of 10 year old girls you'd read the crap you mentioned, but not if you follow Disney sites, well-informed fans, and Imagineers.

But, I suppose people will always hate on whatever new technology comes to be. When forums were the new thing, I'm sure plenty of people mischaracterized them and arbitrarily hated them.

Agreed! I just hope we get a 150-200 million dollar super E-ticket for this land. I really think they will go all out on one ride and create a completely groundbreaking attraction with a new ride system never seen before to counter Potter. Which is what this land needs. They need a ride so mind blowing people go home talking about.
Disney will have its own Forbidden Journey. Jam-packed with Joe Rohde and James Cameron awesomeness.
