Please do, and let me know how much you love it.

:brick:

I looked at them but isn't the same info that gets posted there the same as gets posted here? Even if it gets posted there first, I trust that one of you will put the info here soon after. :) Following here (WDWMAGIC), Facebook, college classes, work, family, etc... :hammer: I don't have time for that. At least not right now. I'd consider it if the info I saw there was not the same info getting posted here. :)

Whoa, whoa whoa WHOA!! Hold on a second........not to jump off topic but Pandas in AK???? Could this be potentially and exchange by the Chinese gov't for building Shanghai? Pandas potentially coming to AK is HUGE news (IF true).

Yep. I heard that it was part of the deal as well. Pandas are a huge draw and Disney knows it.

First things first, is it possible that the reason why Avatar was first announced for the Animal Kingdom a means of keeping Joe Rohde in the fold? There were rumblings about him leaving the company recently and this may be a way to keep him busy after Alunai. "Here Joe, here's a theme and $500 million, have fun"

There's a new thread on this - Jim presented this as a hypothetical on our show last week and then Screamscape picked up on it from an "anonymous" source. I assume the two are related.

Jim Hill seems to be contradicting himself. He also said that The Lion King show would be moved to Africa to make room for Avatar at CMM.:)

When/Where did he say the Lion King show would move for Avatar?

Whenever I see the name Jim Hill I almost start laughing uncontrollably. He reminds me of a psychic.

...I think your hate is based largely on misunderstanding. What you describe certainly is not what is discussed among the Disney-community on Twitter. The conversations are generally informative, and there is almost no nastiness there as compared to forums. Maybe if you followed a bunch of 10 year old girls you'd read the crap you mentioned, but not if you follow Disney sites, well-informed fans, and Imagineers.

But, I suppose people will always hate on whatever new technology comes to be. When forums were the new thing, I'm sure plenty of people mischaracterized them and arbitrarily hated them.

Here Here! I think Twitter gets misrepresented because of the 140 char. limit, which makes people think that nothing of value can be posted. It's a great site that makes for great conversation if you follow people you truly care about listening to.

To stay back on topic, I feel like this is a really good sign, as a part of me worried when this project was announced that Cameron would just stay in LA and be a "off site consultant" or something of the like.

Oh good...the Yeti is gonna be fixed...oh wait they're not there for that. :p

Oh, yeah, no such luck. Better to spend the money on a one-shot movie that doesn't exactly appeal to families (so much for it becoming a counter to Potter) than fix an attraction that's become a park embarrassment. :p

To spark a little discussion, James Cameron confirmed on Comingsoon.net that the next Avatar films will involve the oceans of Pandora. Check it out.

I had mentioned it in one of the other Avatar threads, but I think this means we will see some water based attractions in addition to other attractions.

He also confirmed "other planets as well." Wonder how that plays in.

I'd love to see a TDS journey to the center of the earth type attraction, thrill + dark ride. New ride system however...

I wonder how much Cameron is considering changing Avatar 2 and 3 to make the movies more relevant to park attractions.

Then IMO he ought to do something about it.

So, you think he has ultimate control and power at DAK? There is a reason that there is a chain of command and that a separate group of people control the purse strings. He likely has little control over the fact that the Yeti remains at partial capacity. $$$
