Br'er Bear from Song of the South is much better known and more popular despite his movie not having been seen in the USA in 30 years!

When characters from Brother Bear are out in the Canada pavilion at Epcot, many people can't place the movie they are from, much less their names.

The Country Bears are probably better known. :p

We can debate whether Brother Bear was a success. Fantasia lost money but is highly regarded and well represented in the SpectroMagic parade. Brother Bear made money but people are  about it.

Anyway, I'm just trying to give folks some reason not to gag on the Stitchification of the Magic Kingdom. :D

Brother Bear made $250 million worldwide. Stitch made $273 worldwide. Weird when you think about it (but the domestic difference was much different, $145 for Stitch vs $85 for Bear).

You think Disney is Stitch crazy here, you should see pics from TDR, or that Japanese HSM/Stitch cross over. :lookaroun

I like the character, I liked the original movie. It was much better then anything else they were putting out at the time, but still not the timeless classic that B&tB and LK were. But I have to agree that they have gone overboard with the brand in the parks. So much so that I wish I could change my user name here.

If Stitch had a decent attraction this thread wouldn't even exist! All the Stitch hate comes from SGE! He is a cute lovable character but Disney World hasn't shown that side!

I'm going to give SSC a chance! I won't pass judgement until I see it!

Ok

They make EVERY pin with a 'stitch' version of it. What ever, it's kinda cute, i can deal, i just wont buy em b/c im not a huge stitch fan

They remove AE and replace it with SGE. A complete attrocity. The only dark ride in ALL of disney, the only one you can TRUELY call an adult attraction (and even though disney is ''family' it is riddled with kids only attractions). They could have solved the complaint issue with a 60 inch height restriction, but whatever, disney executives arent that smart now a days.

They close down Tomorrowland Theater and build SSSC. A waste of space, total stitch over kill, a way to further kiddify TL as well as placing it in a position that makes TL look tackey as hell. But since nothing was there prior, i just wont go around it, not as big of a sin as closing AE.

BUT NOW they are having stitchmas during MVMCP....STICHMAS!!! WHAT IN THE HELL. SERIOUSLY, who has a hard-on for stitch in the upper levels of MK? Really, someone is getting MADD turned on by that fuzzy blue ______________, why else would he totally take over TL? I mean really, he has taken over. He's disneys hitler. I've gone to MVMCP for 3 years running, and we traveled to disney for a week during CHRISTMAS time just for this event. EFF that, screw disney and it's stitchification, im just gonna stay home now.

Can someone please explain to me what in the HELL is going on? I'm supposed to be leaving for disney in 36 hours, and now i dont even feel like going . Thanx wdw, you sure know how to keep the "magic" going....

what a GREAT idea, tron AND mickey. I mean where is WDW's most famous character in WDW? philharmagic, toon town fair (no one goes into) and....? Why not combine tron and have mickey make a cameo?
Now you know how I feel about TK being replaced by MILF.
LOL i guess

but i went into SGE with an open mind and i left puking. when i hear you talk about milf i see you (ok im gonna get a lil overboard here for laughs, just stay with me) walking over to your fave attraction the TIMEKEEPER! only to see that it has been shut down and replaced. After crying for 30 minutes uncontrolbly, you slowly crawled into MILF wiping tears out of your eyes so that you could get a good eye on everything you could criticize. after seeing mike get hit with a safe a couple times, you had already decided that the attraction was a dumb waste of time and the entertainement value wont even come close to the enjoyment you got from TK. Sitting down on plastic seats, you slouched back saying "make me laugh funny man!" to which you didn't even crack a smile. leaving in a tiff that you couldnt hear robin williams on disney property ever again.

....that or you we're "THAT GUY!" lol

To be honest about AE, i liked it, but i didnt go onto it everytime i went to the park. it was the coolest sit down and watch attraction, but i dont like being touched so ehhhh.

As one poster said earler, after it went away i went back and remebered all of the nastalsia i had with it and how great it felt watching little kids cry (and teenage girls) crying. It was a much better ride after the fact when i was ready to appreciate it, too bad it wasn't until it was gone

I would have to agree hes everwhere nowa days. Its terrible. I remember stitch was on the monorail when traveling to the magic kingdom, I mean it was nice when the SGE opened but now it really is just a pain. I have to agree with you with everything. TL was amazing till Monsters Inc Laugh Floor showed up along with SGE. I don't hate stitch don't get me wrong I like him but only when hes not everywhere.

Honestly, I think the reason Stitch works so well is BECAUSE he's not a typical Disney cannon character. He's rather edgy by Disney's standards and it makes him unique. I admit, they overuse him quite a bit (I know I'd rather have Wall-E in Tomorrowland. Stitch may be kinda cute but Wall-E is super cute!) but I think he's kinda cute (when he's not drooling) and quite frankly, I seem to recall in my day Disney doing pretty much the same thing with Roger Rabbit. HE was everywhere too. Even sticking him with the classic characters such as Mickey and Goofy and such so I don't see a serious difference. But I gotta admit, there's something epic about a small, furry, six armed alien packing laser guns
and for the record, I can't help but notice how everyone here would rather see something from the 90s used instead. So this is starting to sound very "This isn't what I grew up on, so I hate it." mentality.

You wanna know why people are saying that they wish we would see something from the 90s? Its cause that time period was QUALITY. It wasn't dumbed down, it wasn't made strictly for kids. It was stuff that EVERY age enjoyed. I can PROMISE you that if you were to ask people over the age of 30 what their 5 most fondly remembered Disney movies are, I can promise you that at least 3 of those top 5 will be from the 90s. Thats cause the movies during the 90s were not dumbed down for kids. They had mature themes and adult emotions and desires. Pocahontas was a movie about racism. Shrek was about fart jokes, and prat falls.

I'm telling you, if Disne was smart, they would start focusing on making 90s themed things for WDW. Then, the kids who grew up on 90s Disney would want to come for nostalgia reasons, and would in turn bring their kids.

Well, Stitch now has two terrible shows in Tomorrowland. It's official, I have no reason to go to TL until the TTA opens back up.

Okay, I see there is strong opinions on both sides, so I'm gonna try and be diplomatic. I cant judge Stitch as a character because I never saw the movie or anything else related to him. But I never saw the movie because it just didnt look appealing to me. I do think that having 2 attractions directly dealing with one character in a single land is a little oversaturation. I never realized there was that much demand for Stitch.
