Does DCL do bounceback?:p
Sorta. They do an onboard booking discount. It's 10% off a cruise fare, only 10% deposit (vs. the usual 20%), and onboard credits depending on the length of your next cruise. Even if you don't know when you want to take your next cruise you can book a placeholder or "dummy" far out in the future for as little $$ as possible. Then, when you figure out when you want to sail next you just transfer your "dummy" over, pay any additional deposit, and voila! Bouncing back!

Something to think about for the next Girls' cruise.

Something to think about for the next Girls' cruise.

I just moved 1 of our dummies to the Panama Canal when those itineraries released this week. Saved me somewhere around $700+(?). I have another dummy booking still sitting out there waiting for reassigning. We used an old dummy booking for our upcoming cruise, too, which saved somewhere between $500 & $600. Generally for the shorter or less expensive cruises I try not to use them because the savings isn't all that terribly much. Like last summer when Tracey booked our 3-night cruise he initially booked it at like $1100. Would've saved just $100 so not a good use. You know? Also, think about that Panama Canal booking that originally was a little over $8k. A 20% deposit would've been awful!

I'm not real sure how it'll work on the girls cruise. I *think* we can each book 1 cruise but I'm not positive. Seems like last May we asked could we book a cruise with me as lead guest then another one with Tracey as the lead guest. We were told just one. Our goal then was to book 2 staterooms on the same cruise for us and for my brother but they wouldn't let us. They said we could book for ourselves or we could book for him but we couldn't do both not even if we did 1 each then changed out the names later. Maybe with Tammy and Pam being there they can pull some strings being travel agents and all of us being clients so each of the gals can book a cruise / dummy booking for each of their families for the future. It's all going to net DCL some serious $$ in the end, right?

Ok ladies, the more I'm reading of this and getting to know ya'll through your TR's, the more I want to join in on the fun. I'm going to ask a couple of my Disney-lovin' girlfriends if they're interested. Is there some place I can get some information on numbers and $$ amounts? Just so I have some info to pass on to them when I bring it up. Thanks!

We'd love to have ya!!!

Your best bet is to email @Disneyfalcon and get her provide you with some numbers. The prices are still nice and low. Or, you could go to www.disneycruise.com, search for the September 8th sailing of the Dream, then put in the number of people you will have. It's kinda like pricing out a WDW trip. You just play with the booking engine to get your numbers.

Quick question for those ladies who have cruised before... what time is disembarkment usually at? And for those who went to a Disney resort after disembarkment, what time did you get to the resort? We're trying to figure out some dining options for Thursday so we're trying to get a guesstimate as to what time we will arrive at our resort (early morning vs mid-morning vs noontime...)

@derelicte19, Tracey and I generally don't hang around and prolong getting off the ship. Our first cruise when we left the Dream to go to the Yacht Club we were off the ship around 8 and at the resort around 9.

Oh awesome. That's good to hear. I don't think we are going to hang around too much after we wake up. We're going to want to be off the ship and to the resort ASAP. So that's good to know we can be up and going that early :)

You can probably get off the ship earlier if you really want to. They generally open the gangway around 7:30 for express passengers. You'll have to keep all your luggage with you (don't leave it out to be carried off for you the night before) and roll all your stuff off the ship yourself to do it but you can be off the ship before 8:00. Well, as long as there's no hold-ups with customs clearing the ship's paperwork and all. What transportation are you using to go back?

I'm guessing we will probably just be using the DCL bus to get to the cruise andto get back to the resort. We haven't rally planned anything on that yet but I think that's the what we're leaning towards.

I have no idea what time the buses back to WDW start running. I imagine they'll wait until they have 1 fairly full. When we've gotten back to WDW so quickly it was because we hopped in our own car and drove (usually much faster than we should) back. Maybe Tammy can give you an idea of realistic time to expect to be back via Disney transfers.

They start early! We were at the Polynesian before 9 one time. You can get back pretty early!
