I hear ya on the venturing out alone. That is scary if you're not familiar with a new place. I'm more up for that when I'm with others in a group. I haven't looked at the prices but I know Atlantis does a dolphin thing, too. I think I'm going to do the Aquaventure and may add on the snorkeling in the ruins (their aquarium environment). Part of what Tammy is preparing to send out to everyone is info and deadlines we need to hit for all these types of decisions. The cruise is still 6 months out but the time to start booking is coming up fast. There's some things that we need to know a hard number for within the next few months. So, SERIOUSLY, if you have questions about things NOW is a very good time to ask so you can know what it is you are interested in doing. I have my mental list that I'll commit to soon. My wishes are:

1. Palo &/or Remy brunch (I'm up for both if brunch is available for 2 days which I don't think is the case. If I had to choose 1 I'd go with Remy but if everyone else chooses Palo I'd do that instead)
2. Palo dinner (big maybe...I prefer brunch)
3. Aquaventure (for sure) + snorkel the ruins (maybe)
4. CABANA!!! (if I could only pick 1 thing for the whole cruise I would choose the cabana on Castaway Cay for SURE)
5. Mixology (book onboard...will definitely be doing!)

How about you???
I love your wish list! I have been combing over all the options! Being a major foodie, I would love to try either Remy's or Palo!! (avid F&W festival fan here LOL) Id love to check out Atlantis (once Ive seen it, I can plan kidnapping DH for a few days and not tell him where we're going!!) Ohhhh thank you to Tammy for sending info!!!!!! .... I am totally clueless, or cruiseless in knowledge about the Dream!! I was told to visit the Straw Market and Senor Frogs, by friends who visit Nassau, but again, I really didnt know what the game plan was. This is so exciting!!!!

I am thinking about the chocolate making tour in Nassau. Sleeping on the beach in Castaway Cay. Would love to take the Mixology class onboard. Brunch sounds nice at either restaurant. Are there menu's out there for either of these? I am up on the fence with the cabana's guess it would depend on what everyone else is doing. I also would love to run the 5K. Lots of hopes and wishes. Guess I will see if I can make them come true with a little Disney Dream(ing).

@Disneyfalcon, I know you aren't one of us lushes  but have you ever heard of a group being given a private mixology class? Is there a minimum number of participants we'd need to have a class scheduled just for us? That would be AWESOME. Even the non-drinkers could come sit, drink an unleaded somethin', and laugh with us.

Excellent question. I've never heard of it, but I will look around!

I think as of right now we are doing the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Experience, hopefully doing the cabana on Castaway Cay and I also want to do the mixology class on the ship! :)

Senor Frogs! Never been but Holly HAS!!! We should set a time to for everyone to meet up at the Frog, regardless of where they go in Nassau, for a drinky drink for posterity. I'm in! Even those who planned to stay on the ship maybe would step off long enough to make a meet at Senor Frogs! Straw Market. Never been. My brother-in-law & his wife have. They said it prob'ly wouldn't be a think I would want to go out of my way for. I dunno. Maybe so. I used to enjoy the French Market in New Orleans. :) Even if you didn't make it to the Straw Market, when you go back to the ship you have to walk thru the Festival Center. The Festival Center is a big air conditioned building that has lots of little shops or vendors set up selling all sorts of trinkets and things. I know I've seen a setup selling the infamous straw bags. They have a live band in there, too. It's colorful...and tourist-y...and festive. You have to walk thru a side entrance to the Festival Center to access the pier where the ships are. Just before you walk out onto the pier area is the post office window where we bought our Bahamian postage (for mailing postcards from Castaway Cay) and you have to clear security. They will check your room key and photo ID here. Once you clear these security folks you walk back onto the pier and back to your ship. So no matter what, if you leave the pier in Nassau you'll be forced to walk thru a little shopping area because that's the only way to get back to the ship. Think of it like exiting a ride into a shop. ;)

I'll look for some menus for Remy & Palo. I'm sure if you Googled Disney Dream Remy menu or Disney Dream Palo menu you'd turn up something. I've had both for dinner and both were excellent. I've only had brunch at Palo so I'd definitely want to try the Remy brunch if possible.

I'm interested in this chocolate making tour. I should read about that. That mixology and other tastings you book when you board. I'm sure we can find menus for Palo & Remy. We had a cabana in January and I'm so enchanted with that little strip of pristine beach right in front of them. The little lagoon is like the perfect place to park a chair in the water and relax with a fruity drink. I may run my own 5k onboard vs. on the island. Depends on the weather. Most likely it'll be hot so most likely I'll be cheering you island runners on. ;)

Excellent question. I've never heard of it, but I will look around!

The held mixology with just 2 of us then added 2 as walk-ups. I wonder if they'd let us book a private class with 10 ladies. And, if we get a private class going, would it be possible for some non-alcholic options be offered to non-drinkers? Ya know? That way everyone could play!

Ive been looking into Blue Lagoon Dolphin Experience too, as I told Kelly, and wasnt going alone LOL I think I read the price is $125 (if it wasnt old info) It looked like alot of fun, but not knowing a thing about Nassau, wasn't sure where it was or how to get there. The videos on Youtube, the participants were from Disney cruises. Im also looking in to the Dolphin Experience at Atlantis :)

I think both are offered thru the cruise line. I know how to get to Atlantis without booking thru the cruise line. I'm pretty sure I know where to go AT Atlantis to book the things they have there. I don't know about the dolphin experiences booked independantly, but I know for the Aquaventure when you add up the transport, admission, and lunch that you get included with the cruise line package it's really not much difference in cost. Not enough to make it worth trying to do it all on my own.

If we get a group going to the Atlantis Aquaventure and y'all don't want to wait around with the big group going in, I can show you where to go. You'll see quite a bit on the way thru from the drop-off spot.

That sounds like a great plan!!! Thank you Kelly!!

Put me down for brunch, don't care which one. And I'm in on the mixology class. Senor Frogs is a lot of fun - I was just at the one in Vegas a couple weeks ago. Definitely have to try and schedule a group drink fest. Oh, and a cabana, too. The bar is still out on Atlantis - have to do a little research before I commit to that. Would like to try the casino, though.

I'm not sure if this will come into play during the time of year you are going, but the other thing to keep in mind with Aquaventure is that they will sometimes stop selling day passes there due to capacity issues.

So true. Not sure it would be an issue in September. I'd have to go look to see what other ships will be in Nassau when we are. For me, that's another reason to just book thru the cruise line! ;)

Sweet Holy HECK!!!

The day we are in port in Nassau the Disney Dream is the ONLY ship scheduled to be there!!! To give you an idea what that means, the day before we will be there the schedule shows 6 cruise ships one of which is Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas (huuuuuge ship w/a passenger capacity of over 6,000). The day after we will be in port there are 3 ships scheduled. But on our day...our lonesome little ol' day...Sept.9...it'll be just us...with Nassau all to ourselves, BABY!!! Wooooot!!! The Dream Girls are takin' over!!!!!!

So to recap that: the day before we hit Nassau the expected port load is over 19,000 people. The day we are in Nassau the port load is just 4,000. Lookin' goooooood!!!!

September Park hours are up. There is no mention of the Unleash the Villains party. Has anyone heard anything about this.

Now y'all have me really thinking about Atlantis. Its always been a dream but I was hoping to experience it with the family. Might have to go back and tell them how awesome it was and plan to bring them later.

It's recon. You'd be going to Atlantis FOR your family. It's all in the perspective with this stuff. LOL!

We want to do the Blue Lagoon one because that one, while it's more expensive, your dolphin actually pushes you across the water. The one at Atlantis I don't think does that. (Or maybe it's the other way around....) Either way, one has the dolphin push across the pool and the other doesn't. We're doing the one with the dolphin push :)
