So, I started looking at airfares over the weekend--dismayed to find it so expensive to fly between NYC and MCO that week. I could save a bunch by coming home on Friday, I guess because no one wants to fly on Friday the 13th! That wouldn't bother me, but then I'd miss the Villains Unleashed event. :(

On Thursday, I can see if I can move my room from OKW to one of the other DVC resorts--anyone got suggestions? :D

Boardwalk!! That and Beach Club are my favorites.

Don't worry, airfare will change a lot between now and then!

Flights just came out for Southwest and it's $315 RT from Portland, ME to MCO. UGH!! We paid $240 for our last trip in Sept. Providence is an option as I do have family who lives about half an hour from the airport and RT from there on non-stops is pricing out to be $187!! A savings of $128 per person. We just don't know if we want to drive the 2 1/2 hours each way to save that money lol

We are also looking into renting points, too. If we can't rent points we're going with POFQ.

I read an article recently that suggested the best time to buy domestic airfare is 60-some-odd days from travel & international was 80-something. That stood out to me because my mind immediately thought, "Holy crap! I'd be a nervous mess if I was that close to my trip and hadn't secured my airfare yet...especially international!" But then the way I get Click-n-Save alerts from Southwest I don't think the time frame is that far off the mark. I dunno. I'm prob'ly driving anyway. Even if I fly, I'm arriving the day before the cruise. I'm kinda secretly holding out hope that after the cruise when all you lovely ladies are debarking I'll be turning around and getting right back on...2 more times!

One thing I love about Southwest is you can rebook your airfare with the lower rate if it becomes available. However, I usually book Wanna Get Away fares, so instead of getting a refund, I get a credit toward a future trip. For me that works well because I usually visit WDW 3 - 4 times per year, but I understand those who don't travel as much wouldn't find this as useful. This past trip I was able to get my air for $179 roundtrip, nonstop from Providence to Orlando, and that was three weeks before I left!

YAY!! We are arriving on the 7th too. I'm totally "cruiseless" as well Deb and so are my mother and my sister who are coming with me! We're all Disney freaks but that's limited to the parks and old Disney tv shows. We know nothing about cruising. I bought the Birnbaum's cruise guide and I've been reading it a little bit here and there and also reading people's cruise reports ( @sweetpee_1993 has a great one she is writing right now!!)

It's true! I've been watching flights for next week and when I checked a few months out it was over $400 roundtrip. About 3-4 weeks ago they came down to $200!

Cruiseless/Clueless works! It's almost more fun your first time!! :)

Definitely come on the 7th! Don't wait until the 8th if you can help it.

That's okay! You don't have to stay at Disney, it's just good to be there! And not worry about flight delays and missing the ship! :)

We will have another chat sometime this month and compare plans. I have a feeling some people will be in Port Canaveral, some at Disney, and maybe some at the airport!

Yeah, if I fly in I would be up to splitting at the Hyatt in the airport.

I was leaning towards the Hyatt too if I come in on the 7th. Unless I get there really early on the 7th. :)
I've been checking airfare, too. Seeing anything from $236-270 round trip from Pittsburgh. Was kicking around spending the night of the 7th at Disney before the cruise, but now I'm leaning more towards just staying at the airport. Is the Hyatt one place you all would recommend?
