Considering this is my third TR in 3 months & not too much changes with us I'm sure you feel like you know my family & I as well as your own!! I guess that could be good or bad...:hilarious:

Anyhow, for those who are going to stick around thanks for reading & welcome!!

In 2016, I had plantar fasciitis in one of my feet in the months leading up to the WDW trip. Luckily, it cleared up on its own (after weeks of babying my feet) right before the trip. I don't know what happened during my trip in March but I ended every day in tears because of my ankle. And by the end of the trip, it wasn't just my ankle but my left calf would have painful pins and needles feeling before it would go numb. Painful feet and legs at WDW is the worst place to have the problem!! I'm having that pain again in my left leg even though I'm not doing miles of walking so I have a Dr appt next week. I have another trip next April and I do NOT want that problem again!!

Sorry you got caught in a monsoon! DH and I love the monsoons because the parks empty out so much and in certain places, the indoor rides can be total walk ons if the monsoon is at the right time of day for the park to clear out!:happy:
I am so sorry for the hassle with your feet. It's amazing you're able to accomplish as much as you do at Disney, walking around with all that pain!
I normally don't mind the monsoons for the same reason you do but we had already been at the park for 8 hours so we were definitely ready to throw in the towel for the day!!
Thanks--the walking was pretty rough that trip but I was happy with how much I was still able to do.
That’s because shrimp is better with tartar sauce. :p

I’m currently on oral steroids for plantar fascia right now. Wrapping up that tomorrow and the follow up is later this month.
I like tartar sauce but only on fried fish--can't do it on the shrimp!!

I hope your plantar fascia heals up quickly. I remember the pain from that all too well & it was not fun. I did not want to have the surgery in the least(considering that was going to be my 5th foot surgery I was not happy at all)but it was the only option I had b/c the tear was so bad. I hope you don't have to go that route.
The bus thing might be as simple as routine. Just that that's where he sat the first time, so that's where he's comfortable. DS screamed bloody murder the 2nd time we took the bus to swimming lessons. He was 6, and the first time we got off the bus, I knew we had to cross the street at some point, but I went one street too far, so I had crossed the one street and then had to double back to cross the other way. The 2nd time, I knew where I was going, so I just crossed at the right street and he freaked out, screaming that I was going the wrong way and we needed to go back. I'm standing there, pointing to the swimming pool to show him that we were going in the right direction, but he would not move. I had to pick him up and carry him, literally kicking and screaming, to the pool. The 3rd time, when we got out of the bus, he was very anxious and tearfully asked me if we could PLEASE cross the other street first this time. I asked him why it was so important to him, and he said it felt safer that way. I asked him why, and he said it was because that's the way we went the first time. It was familiar to him, which felt safer. So we had to go that way from that point on. Perhaps J has formed a connection in his mind with that particular seat and a fun memory, so he associates that seat with a positive experience? I don't know, but if I had to guess, that's what I'd think. Just like a particular smell, or a song on the radio automatically makes you think of a certain memory...a person or place. The song you danced to at your wedding makes you think of that day, or the smell of Thanksgiving turkey might make you think of your grandma because you always went there for the holidays.
That makes great sense!! I'll have to pick his brain a bit next time to see if I can get him to tell me why he likes that seat so much!!

I hope your feet are feeling better and that you are getting treatment after the trip

Max
Thanks Max!!
It's fine now b/c the steroids are doing their thing. The thing is the steroids are just a "temporary band-aid". There's nothing more they can do b/c the resections of the coalitions do not work. Unfortunately, I have pretty bad arthritis b/c the joints in my feet don't function like they should so it puts stress on other joints. The right one is so bad that I've lost pretty much all motion in my hindfoot. The only thing left to do is to fuse the ankle & foot together to take the stress off the joints but then I will lose a great deal of mobility in my foot & ankle. I refuse to do it at this point & the doctor told me I'll know when I'm ready b/c I won't be able to stand the pain anymore. I just have to hope that something else doesn't go wrong with the mechanics of my feet in the meantime to warrant another surgery!!
I sympathize with you and your foot pain. I had plantar fasciitis last 2 trips and had to get injections of cortisone so I could walk. I KNOW how you felt! Husband also has foot/ankle problems and has cortisone injections before trekking to Disney to walk 10 miles plus a day!!! He uses a scooter some of the days, and so have I. Have you considered using an EVC so you could save yourself some pain and rest your foot? You can rent one for the day if you don't want to have one all the time. That's what we do and it really does make a difference in our level of comfort. Just keep the receipt and get another one same day at another park if you want. Hope you feel better. I am enjoying following along.
Foot pain is awful!! I feel for you & your husband--it's no fun at all!! I would need to take a course in how to operate an EVC before I thought of using one--I'm afraid I would end up plowing into someone!! I wish you & your husband the best with your issues. Thanks for reading!!
I hope that in time, there will be a procedure that will actually work for your foot. It's bizarre to hear about all the different medical issues that people can have. I'm just glad to hear that you were still able to get around, in spite of the foot issue.
Thanks--I am thankful that I could still get around but I'm pretty tough & stubborn!! I wish there was a procedure that would work too but it doesn't look that way, unfortunately. As I replied to Max(above) the only option left is a fusion. It's a long recovery & it too will eventually cause stress on other joints so I figure why bother putting myself through it(right now at least). And I agree, it's amazing all the different medical issues that are out there!!
One time my Mom and I counted 11 on our flight to Buffalo from MCO..it was crazy!!
11-wow!! I will say I'm always amazed how quick they are to board though. I always think that there is no way the flight is going to take off on time but it always does(at least with Southwest).
OMG This happened to me in DL too! It was so weird!!
It was so weird that it almost became comical!!
Thats so odd what the heck!!!!

P.S. sorry for all the notifications I am really trying to catch up on my TRs
It was very odd and EXTREMELY embarrassing. I felt like a little kid being scolded!!

No worries at all--I'm glad you're reading & I'm enjoying yours as always!!:)

Maybe all the walking really aggravated it?
I'm glad you're having it looked at now. It can take quite awhile to heal so might as well start taking care of it now. I hope it's an easy fix. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

I hope the doctor can help you with both of those problems, between your foot and leg. (Wonder if he/she can give you a shot of Cortizone in the areas that hurt to walk.)

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

I finally arrived at one of my favorites!!
IMG_5211.jpeg

IMG_5212.jpeg

A CM was handing these cards out. I was laughing to myself b/c of the amount of times that mobile ordering doesn't work!!
IMG_5214.jpeg

IMG_5215.jpeg

It was right about here when I saw a little boy crying to his dad that he didn't want to go on the ride. I tried to help his dad out by telling him it was fun but he wasn't having it. They ended up exiting at that point.
IMG_5216.jpeg

While in line I couldn't help but overhear the conversation between a husband and wife behind me.
Husband: You know I was thinking, we really should make an appointment for Johnny(not really his name but I can't remember what it actually was) to see the dentist. He's at the age where he should start getting regular check-ups.
Wife: No, he doesn't have to go right now.
Husband: I disagree.
Wife: I already took him 4 months ago.
Husband: (Very nonchalantly)Oh, so how did it go?
Wife: Fine.
Then they started talking about something else.o_O

I guess there's not much communication in that household!!

IMG_5217.jpeg

More often than not my photo for this ride does not show up in my account and today was no exception.:arghh:
While exiting a guy noticed the screens(where the ride photos are supposed to be but never are anymore) & asked somebody in his party "What's a magic band?"
Oh, the things one hears when traveling solo!!:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

I still hadn't heard from E so I decided to head to Expedition Everest & go in the single rider line.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

Even though Expedition Everest was down I decided to head to Asia in the hopes that it would start running again.
IMG_5222.jpeg

I watched this squirrel for a few minutes. He was quite amusing!!
IMG_5223.jpeg

This is as close as I would get to Everest this trip. It was still down.
IMG_5224.jpeg

E texted me to say they had arrived so we decided to meet at Yak & Yeti for lunch.

I stopped to watch the monkeys for a few minutes. They were super talkative & loud that day!!
IMG_5225.jpeg

It was early so it wasn't very crowded which was nice.
IMG_5226.jpeg

We both got the same thing--egg rolls & chicken fried rice. Can't go wrong with those. I don't think I've ever had anything else here besides this!!
IMG_5227.jpeg

The only thing that bugs me about sitting here--these guys can be pretty aggressive....
IMG_5228.jpeg

IMG_5229.jpeg

....and people like this are the reason why.
IMG_5230.jpeg

The guy in the background fed the ducks nonstop & they would eat right out of his hand. Then he would take a few bites himself. I love animals but I was getting pretty grossed out watching that!!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

After our lunch we went to catch the 12:00 showing of FotLK. E & I really enjoy this show so it's always a "must do" for us.
IMG_5231.jpeg

E snapped a few pictures of J & I.
IMG_0611.jpeg

IMG_0612.jpeg

Look at that crazy poof in my hair. I guess I didn't pull it back tight enough!!

Since J was smiling so nice for E I thought he & I could take a few nice selfies......

IMG_5233.jpeg

IMG_5234.jpeg

....oh well, I tried!!

On with the show!!

IMG_5252.jpeg

I just love this show!! I always tear up at the end!!
IMG_5253.jpeg

We exited to dark skies & took shelter near Tusker House for a few minutes before our next FP.
IMG_5254.jpeg

IMG_5255.jpeg

IMG_5256.jpeg

Had to get that picture of the matching shoes....again.
IMG_5257.jpeg

I asked E what was going on with the leaves in the stroller. She said J collected them around POR & wanted them in there. She said he's moved on from pine cones!!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

We arrived for our next FP & were greeted by this. Only this wasn't the FP line--it was everyone who was trying to take cover from the rain. It was quite difficult getting through b/c nobody wanted to move.
IMG_5259.jpeg

IMG_5260.jpeg

IMG_5261.jpeg

J was excited for this. He really enjoys this attraction. He said he wanted to sit on the end so he could see good.
IMG_5262.jpeg

I sat next to him so E told me not to let him rest his arm on the edge b/c she was afraid his magic band might fall off. I had to remind him of that a few times & he tried telling me that it wouldn't happen. Ok kid!!
IMG_5263.jpeg

IMG_5264.jpeg

IMG_5265.jpeg

No can do--I would be scared to death!!
IMG_5267.jpeg

The african painted dogs really upset me so I usually have to turn away when I see them. There was a tragic incident at our local zoo a few years ago where a child was killed by a pack of them. Every time I'm on the safari and I see them I think of that.
IMG_5268.jpeg

On a lighter note this giraffe was looking pretty good!!

There's the baby elephant in the middle there.
IMG_5274.jpeg

J was so funny. At one point he says, "Oh man, how did we miss the flamingos?" We came around the corner & there they were. He was getting ahead of himself!!
IMG_5275.jpeg

IMG_5276.jpeg

IMG_5277.jpeg

IMG_5278.jpeg

IMG_5279.jpeg

Now for the highlight of the ride....
IMG_5280.jpeg

These two lions were fighting. The one reached out & slapped the other one so hard that the whole jeep heard it. There was a collective "Ooohhh" from everybody on board. Naturally the cameras were going like crazy then. I got this video for the second slap but it was nothing like the first one.

After that there was no more safari drama....

E & J had a bathroom break while I walked around the gift shop.
IMG_5284.jpeg

IMG_5285.jpeg

IMG_5286.jpeg

IMG_5287.jpeg

We headed to Creature Comforts to get our daily Starbucks.
IMG_5288.jpeg

I thought this cupcake was so pretty!!
IMG_5289.jpeg

I remembered that the last time I got this drink at AK I got a dome lid. I asked the CM why the dome lid since the drink doesn't need it. She told me that they don't use the other lids in that park b/c of the animals. If an animal somehow got a hold of this type of lid they could free themselves from it but not the other kind. Very interesting....
IMG_5290.jpeg

We checked out Island Mercantile for a few minutes.
IMG_5291.jpeg

It was close to 2:00 & J needed to take a nap so we made our way out of the park.
IMG_5293.jpeg

A Port Orleans bus was waiting but that's not where we were headed...

We were going to spend some time in Epcot!!
IMG_5297.jpeg

IMG_5296.jpeg

IMG_5298.jpeg

E told me she was going to walk back to the countries to try to get J to fall asleep. She told me to go do some things then we would meet up in the countries when I was done.
IMG_5300.jpeg

The single rider line for Test Track was only 10 minutes so I hopped in.

I saw this kit in the gift shop where you can build your own Test Track car so I got it for J. He was really excited with it. E told him he & his dad would build it when we got back home.

I still say the new version is lame but I was there & it was a walk on so I did it.

I went with the Hummus Fries.

They were good but I'm not sure that I would get them again. They were a bit on the dry side so I only ate 2 of them.

Then later, he commented that he had never seen it, and I was like...um....yes you have. You watched it with ME! I still remember your reaction to certain parts. He kept insisting he had never seen it. So we went to the video store to rent a movie, and I knew the girl who worked there, I asked her to look up our rental history. Sure enough, Beauty and the beast, right during the time he visited. He was flabbergasted. He couldn't remember it at ALL. And that happens sometimes...I tell him something and he has no memory of it and I can tell him where we were when the conversation took place, who was there, what I said, what he said...he just has no memory of it.

Now onto Japan. This is probably one of my favorite areas in WS. A few years ago E & I found a nice place for J to take a nap near Katsura Grill. It was so quite & peaceful. It was a nice place to relax and people watch.
