If you're tired of the same old, same old & would like to excuse yourself from this one I get it. No hard feelings, really... Considering this is my third TR in 3 months & not too much changes with us I'm sure you feel like you know my family & I as well as your own!! I guess that could be good or bad...:hilarious:

Anyhow, for those who are going to stick around thanks for reading & welcome!!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

E texted me that she was in Germany & told me to get an Italian Margarita on my way to meet her b/c it was really good.
IMG_5326.jpeg

IMG_5327.jpeg

I took her advice & got the margarita but was very disappointed. It was really warm, not refreshing at all for such a hot day.
IMG_5328.jpeg

At least I didn't wait in a long line for it!!
IMG_5330.jpeg

I stopped to watch the trains for a bit. I love looking at all the little details.

Like the people in the car....
IMG_5334.jpeg

Look who I spied!!
IMG_5335.jpeg

I met up with E & J. E shot a pretty good dig at me. When she texted me about getting the Italian Margarita I asked her where she got it from. Her response was, "Italy, where do you think?" So when I met up with her she told me I deserved the "dumb (something something something) of the year award" for my comment. I explained that I knew she meant in Italy but I just didn't know where. It actually turned out to be a very valid question b/c I ended up getting it from the Food & Wine festival stand(& mine was the warm liquid one). She got hers from somewhere else in Italy & hers was frozen. E's was much better than mine!! I found her comment to be very funny & took no offense in the least(my family is very sarcastic & it's normal for us to tease each other like that) but I wouldn't want anyone reading this to take offense so I'm just going to leave this story at that. Sometimes less is more.....

We watched these guys for a few minutes. They were entertaining!!

For a Friday afternoon(it was 5:00) during Food & Wine I didn't think it was too crowded!!
IMG_5339.jpeg

IMG_5340.jpeg

We asked J if he wanted to take a boat ride & he was all for it!!
IMG_5341.jpeg

I love the vibe inside of this pavilion!!
IMG_5342.jpeg

Maybe this is why WS wasn't too crowded outside?? Everyone was in line to see The Three Caballeros!!
IMG_5343.jpeg

The line moved quickly though!!

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

The skies were starting to get a little dark so we decided to start making our way out of Epcot.
IMG_5352.jpeg

E & J went into a store while I debated between Thailand and Greece.
IMG_5353.jpeg

IMG_5354.jpeg

The Loaded Greek "Nachos" won!! They were really good but a bit messy. The "meatless sausage crumbles" part is what caught my eye. For health reasons I've started trying to incorporate plant based/meat substitute items into my diet(not totally but when I can). BTW-If anyone has any suggestions on some good brands/products that you've tried I would love to hear them!!
IMG_5355.jpeg

When they left the store J noticed Daisy was out. There wasn't much of a line & he wanted to meet her--even though he doesn't look like he does in this picture!!
IMG_5356.jpeg

IMG_5357.jpeg

Now he's all smiles!!

We bid WS farewell & headed towards FW.
IMG_5360.jpeg

IMG_5361.jpeg

J was excited to go Soarin'!! This is a favorite of E's also.
IMG_5362.jpeg

While E went to park the stroller J sat down & I took this picture. I absolutely love it!! One might say I'm biased b/c he's my nephew but he looks too darn cute!!
IMG_5363.jpeg

As we walked up towards The Land E & I were cracking up--J was busy complaining about having to walk up the hill!!:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
Wait until he's my age.....
IMG_5364.jpeg

IMG_5365.jpeg

Mr. My Legs Hurt decided to keep running ahead of us in the queue. He would stop every so often and wait for us to catch up.

We're ready for takeoff!!

After we were done Soarin' J said he wanted to go on Living with the Land. It said it was a 5 minute wait but we pretty much walked on.

IMG_5371.jpeg

I really enjoy this ride but I must say I was also happy to sit for a bit & take some pressure off my foot.

Although it is hard to see them J was excited with the lights in the blocks.

E wanted to go in Mouse Gear & J wanted to ride SSE. She asked me if I was interested in shopping. I really wasn't so she asked me if I would take J on SSE.
As J & I approached the entrance he started to panic. He told me that he couldn't go on b/c he wasn't wearing his Magic Band(E had it). I told him he didn't need it. Then he got confused as to why we went in the stand-by line. He told me I was going the wrong way. It was then that I understood his confusion. He has never been on SSE without a FP!! So I explained to him that we didn't have a FP for it this time. He asked me multiple times why we didn't(he's at that age of why this, why that) but he understood it in the end.
IMG_5379.jpeg

IMG_5380.jpeg

I was proud of him for wanting to ride b/c as of a few months prior this was another one that he was afraid of.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

I had J stop for a photo at the famous bubblegum wall on the way out.
IMG_5399.jpeg

We met up with E & stopped in the Camera Center. She told me I should test my luck with the fuel rod station in there.
It worked!!:D
IMG_5400.jpeg

This moon next to SSE looked really cool. This picture doesn't do it justice.

A Riverside bus was just pulling out as we approached the stop. A French Quarter one was pulling in & I asked E if she wanted to take that one. She said she wanted to but she didn't know if I would want to walk back to POR from FQ b/c of my foot. I told her that I would be fine.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST

I forgot to mention in my last post that on the bus was a husband & wife. With them were(as I figured out as the bus ride went on)her parents. The dad was pretty quiet & it was obvious that the mom had dementia. At one point the mom said that she was scared b/c she didn't know where she was. Her daughter reassured her about where they were. She reminded her that they were going to MK the next day & her mom did get excited. She told her daughter that she was going to lay out her clothes that evening for the next day just like she had done the evening before. It was all so sweet but so sad at the same time. It seemed like mom's memory would come & go. Her daughter was a complete saint and knew all the right things to say to keep her mom feeling happy & secure. I had to keep my head down b/c I started to tear up a bit hearing what was going on. In my head I said a prayer for the family wishing that they would enjoy the rest of their vacation & hope that mom would remember the good times they had & if not at least for her to be happy while she was in the moment. Dementia/alzheimer's is such an awful disease.

We arrived at FQ & J got a coin from a CM. As you can tell by the bag E bought something quite large while we were at Epcot but for the life of me I can't remember what it was.

IMG_5406.jpeg

None of us were super hungry but since we didn't eat dinner(just a few items at Food & Wine)we figured we should or we would be hungry later. We decided to eat at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory for a change of pace.
IMG_5407.jpeg

And a change of pace it was....and a slow one at that. It took FOREVER to get our food. I went to sit down at a table b/c my foot was in sheer torture at that point while E & J waited for the food. I took the stroller with me. I don't know what I was thinking but I found a table with two chairs so I sat down & pulled the stroller in like it was a chair. When J & E approached me J said, "Hey, there's only 2 chairs. Where am I supposed to sit?" We picked up & moved to another table. J always sits at the table so I don't know what I was thinking when I grabbed a table with only two chairs. I'll blame it on the pain I was in at that point.
IMG_5408.jpeg

The family that was on the bus was sitting a few tables away from us so seeing them made me feel sad again.

J got grilled cheese. I got the cheese steak. What sold me on it was that there were banana peppers on it. I love foods with a kick to them!!
IMG_5409.jpeg

If you're wondering where they are I was too!! There were two slices of them mixed in & that was it. It was still good though & way too much food. But, I should have stuck with the jambalaya like I originally planned....

E got a cheeseburger.
IMG_5410.jpeg

After dinner we checked out the gift shop then headed back to POR. We got back around 9:00. I thought about going to Muddy Rivers since it was our last night there but two things kept me away. 1-there was a pool party going on & it was quite loud. 2-I did not feel like taking one more step that evening. So, I opted to stay in my room & rest.
IMG_5411.jpeg

I happened to take a look at the thank you note that was there on arrival day.

That's not my last name!!:hilarious:

I wish my nephew was that young again....:inlove:
Such a fun age!! I better enjoy it while I can. J is the youngest of my nieces & nephews and he most likely is the last one!!
YAY! J did a great job on SSE without his mom and learning to adapt with change! The pic with Daisy is cute! :inlove:Bummer about your margarita! I would have wanted a frozen one, too! :geek::hungry:
J's really come a long way with a lot of the rides!! The SSE thing was pretty funny!! The interesting thing is that I normally get margaritas on the rocks & not frozen!!

It is indeed. My grandfather has Alzheimer's and it's a pretty bad stage. He, along with my grandmother, had to move in with my dad. It's sad to watch this disease take over his mind and to know that there isn't a cure and that it's only going to get worse. I just try to enjoy and savor the good days whenever he has them.

He looks so tiny next to that wall ! :joyfull: The other thing that struck me funny was that (I think it was just the camera angle/lighting), his grey sneakers almost look oversized--like an adult size on a little kid! ;)
You're right--he does look tiny!! The funny thing is he isn't. I may have mentioned this before but for as short as E is(she's 4'11") her husband is the exact opposite. And J definitely takes after his dad. I believe he's 6'4" or 6'5". J has long fingers & big feet. At the age of 3 he's as tall as my 5 year old niece!!

I'm so sorry to hear that. It is so hard on the family & such a scary thing. I like your thought process--enjoy the good days.
