Is Your Cocktail Table Bare? Try Walt Disney's Disneyland...

I always like to display a nice picture book or two on my living room cocktail table. I was shopping around for something new this evening and just discovered that the very stylish folks at Taschen are about to republish a mid 1960's picture book that was (and still is) entitled "Walt Disney's Disneyland". It's full of photos of mid 1960's Disneyland, an A-Go-Go era that most Disneyland fans agree was a Golden Age for the park. https://www.taschen.com/pages/en/catalogue/popculture/all/01172/facts.walt_disneys_disneyland.htm

This is a sleek and slick reissue of a 1960's classic. It becomes available for purchase next month, and it will hold a place of honor on my cocktail table through the fall. I hope I won't be the only Disneyland fan who purchases this fabulous book. Join me, won't you?

Anyone get this or get any type of shipping notification? It is apparently released tomorrow yet my amazon order doesn't have a ship date available yet.

Designing Disney by John Hench
Architecture of Reassurance: Designing Disney's Theme Parks (lots of info maybe a bit of a dry read)
First Walt Disney Imagineering Book
Imagineering Field Guides, short and simple for each domestic park

One of the big regrets in my life - Not taking the college course "The Art of Walt Disney in American Culture", taught by Karol Ann Marling, the author of "Architecture of Reassurance: Designing Disney's Theme Parks". :arghh:

I have several of the books mentioned by many in this thread (Thanks for all the recommendations, BTW!!). I see that there are many more I need to obtain. :)

Amazon sent me a notice- estimated delivery changed again. Now it’s 10/5 -10/9. I may as well just wait for it and not cancel. I’m only 50 pages or so in on the Disneyland Inside story book and haven’t even taken the shrink wrap off the Disneyland Paris: Sketch to Reality book.

I got that as well.

Walmart has it available for $40, delivered by Saturday. If it arrives, I'll cancel my amazon order.

I can't find it on the walmart website any more. And Amazon is telling me my book won't ship until November. :(

There's a Taschen store in west LA, but I have no desire to fight LA County traffic to get it.

I wonder if they are selling it at the park somewhere?

Really? I just checked the app and it said mine will be delivered between 9/24 and 9/26.

My WM order was supposed to be delivered today...yup, nothing showed up. I will probably just cancel my WM order now as my gut tells me it's not showing up anytime soon.

I believe it is/will be for sale in Disneyland...thought I read there is a signing of the book this weekend.
