not at all, the there is plenty of space in the turnpikes area. and im talking in the entrance, not in the main road. :/

Hang on, according to Wiki, that is only 14' deep. Might have to dredge it out a bit to make sure it's fully submerged...

It is amazing - Disney put so much work into DCA to give the entrance and the Hollywood section that old Hollywood feel. And then there is DHS, which already HAD that feel, and they leave the stupid BAH there to ruin the atmosphere.

Difference being one was used for a few minutes as a finale for a fireworks show, and the other has been used for 14 years as permanent park icon.

It's not going anywhere. It doesn't matter that it looks like a giant blue cone and has all this industrial-looking infrastructure, that it was designed for a temporary celebration, that it's actually a pin shop or that is blocks the Chinese Theater. Disney has made that God-awful thing the "icon" of the Studios, for better or worse. It's not a case like Spaceship Earth where they attached some gaudy thing to an existing structure that was already iconic for almost 20 years. MGM sort of had the Earful Tower as an icon, but it's not as visible within the park. Disney knows that the giant hat thing is instantly more "Disney!" in the general public's eye than a water tower thing and they aren't going to use the Chinese Theater.

While you make a good point and that is slightly odd, I feel the water tower is used more as a throwback/retro thing, which has been popular in their merchandise in recent years.
