Not sure if this is sarcasm. This is after 7 nights of work...

It appears they need to remove the ears to get clearance for the next levels of the hat. Hence the start of the removal of the hand... so they can get to the golden ears.

I would hope that after a certain point, sooner than later, removing enough of the height and extra doodads, golden ears and such, that what's left can be handled and controlled by the "proper and serious" crane and hoisted away in one piece overnight one day soon.

Boy, this is a VERY thorough refurbishment of the hat! It's so good to see Disney spending the money to do things right... this way we can enjoy the hat for another 30 years! Does anyone know if it will be put back together in time for my trip in November?
