The next DHS Guidemap should very telling. It comes out on Jan 5th I read it on twitter.

It's the 7th actually.

Actually, the maps were supposed to come out on the 5th. Someone put them out early.

Anyway, this story has got me thinking, how are we certain Disney isn't just removing it to make more space for a permanent stage? They've constantly been dumping stages there for years, especially recently.

That is the leading rumor. A stage with retractable lighting and sound system.

So how long before the Piece of the BAH pins go on sale?

I'd buy one, to commemorate the Hat's demise.

One question in where will they be doing all of the stage shows for the various events they have (Star Wars Weekends and such)? I don't remember in how it looked before the BAH but it always did seem to be out of place in front of the theater.

Ahh...which is precisely why this view that everyone want of the Chinese Theater to return, will not be this great view as it was prior to the hat. They will put a stage back up, they have too many events they use that stage for. Unless they decided to move all those events indoors or maybe over to Indi. We shall see.

I'm sure they will use the stage when needed but I don't foresee a year round stage being placed.

Hey a girl can hope. Honestly though, that hat is such a simple structure I just don't see why it should take any longer than a day or two to take down. Again I'm just saying the hat itself. I know the walls will be up for probably a month while they remove the floor, cabling, etc. and fix the concrete. Heck they'll probably add walls to replace all the concrete in the hub to make sure it matches (or something equally silly). :D
I understand, but, it is a lot more difficult then it might seem. It has to come apart piece by piece even if they are planning on burying it in a landfill. It is a well built structure and has weathered some pretty severe storms since it was built. It won't be real easy to do. I guess the overall length of the project will be determined by just how fast they want it to disappear. It is in the middle of the park so if they don't want a lot of noise and equipment around during park hours it will have to be done at night. That slows it down exponentially.

Who says it'll be the porta stage and canopy of old?
