Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

I wonder how many people are going to be saying "hey, there was a building behind the hat?"

It's the 7th actually.

Perhaps Disney could pass it off as a new unannounced ride.

I just think it's terrible sad it's like removing the castle from Magic Kingdom or the world from Epcot Or the tree from animal kingdom

Nope, not even a bit.....Only if the BAH had been there from the park opening and as the intentional centrepiece.
Like most people here, I don't actually hate the BAH. Just it's placement. Most would be perfectly happy If they moved it to somewhere like the Fantasmic! stadium or outside the park gates then that would be great.

If it had been the parks centrepiece from the beginning then I would agree, but a closer analogy would be when they tore down the pink castle decorations after the 25th anniversary celebrations.

One question in where will they be doing all of the stage shows for the various events they have (Star Wars Weekends and such)? I don't remember in how it looked before the BAH but it always did seem to be out of place in front of the theater.

Anyway, this story has got me thinking, how are we certain Disney isn't just removing it to make more space for a permanent stage? They've constantly been dumping stages there for years, especially recently.

A bit off topic, but I was reading the front page article, and interesting side note on how the Picture Spot sign stayed there right in front of the construction wall:p

Why can't we start a thread dedicated to just the demo of this so the people who are interested in just seeing pictures of the demo status don't have to scroll through pin stand status' and such...??
Because the pin store is part of the Hat... The pin store closing is because of the demolition.

I will say that I do find it interesting that many Disney fans want an icon which resembles a big piece in Disney history (Fantasia) gone. I always liked the hat, but I hate how they just dumped it right in front of the Chinese Theater. Most people don't even know that the building even exists anymore.

I have mixed feelings about the hat leaving, but either way, it'll be cool to experience the view the same way it was back in the 90's!
100% agree

My question: Time frame of removal? I'm not on either side of the fence, never seen it, won't miss it, never really been a fan of it neither. But will it be gone, or more fences for me to walk around at the end of February?
