...you just gave me the BEST idea!!! They should just move the BAH from it's current location and plop it right smack dab in the middle of the Norway pavilion to complete it's Toonification!!! People will LOVE IT!!!

and usually new accounts are created by Disney PR brigade to sway the opinions when a big problematic theme appears in the forums. (Example... Frozen ).

These accounts are always "oh gods, disney cant go wrong.. best idea EVER!" to anything that happens that looks completely dumb for most of the forum goers.

Or the new accounts are created by a member with the intent on disagreeing, or being snarky so that they come away unscathed. This is usually typical when you see a new member and their first post is argumentative.

I would agree with that sentiment.
The 'Hat' may block the view of the beauty behind it, but the 'Wand' truly visually decimated the grandeur of Spaceship Earth.
;)

Ah, good times.

With the hat going, there's just one piece of monstrosity left to get rid of, and that's the Epcot memorial gravestones.

I know some people like them to remember deceased loved ones, but the view of Spaceship Earth was so much better without them, and they could easily be moved to somewhere that didn't block the view so badly.

I never really understood how a garden of remembrance fitted in with Epcot's theme, so really it's time for them to go.

I thought there was an issue with placing it in front of Fantasmic because of it being in the sight line between Morocco and the Tower of Terror. Unless that was debunked. There was a discussion about it somewhere.

Oh, yes, there was. Wizards of smart drew diagrams for sightlines, elevation, etc. Whatever. DTD/Disney Springs would be a good place for it.

Ahhh...i remember the glorious day when it was officially announced the 'Wand' was finally being removed ( and just in time for EPCOT's 25th Anniversary too! )
Who here remembers 'Wand Watch 2007'....?

Here is a image that perfectly captures the happiness fans were feeling that day -

Looking forward to 'Hat Watch 2015' !

;)

Put the hat on top of SSE and bring back the wand.

Agree.
I look very much forward to that day, when the 'Leave a Legacy' monoliths are finally removed from their current location.

Seems that I read somewhere that Disney committed to having the "monuments" in place until 2027.

According to this site it is 2020:

http://www.floridareview.co.uk/walt-disney-world/leave-a-legacy-at-epcot

"Note that you had to sign an agreement that you could not wear anything with a logo or symbol (no Nike baseball caps!!) and that you accepted that the sculpture might be replaced or relocated within Walt Disney World at any time and that after 20 years (2020), it may be permanently removed."

There is a time period commitment but they can be moved off the tombstones. The exact terms and conditions are somewhere in these forums.

You mean the engraved pics can be moved, right? Its strange how Disney worded all that...pics can be moved at any time, but stones remain for 20 years. I wonder if they thought that they might "over sell" and be able to use the same space more than once? The stones look like they still have plenty of room for more pics, so I guess they didn't sell as well as projected. In any event, it makes for an ugly entrance.

No, the agreement is that your pictures will be "on display" for at least 20 years, but they do no commit to where they will be on display.

If they did move them though, "following the contract", we could probably expect some angry customers

I actually think they help the view of SE though. It complements it nicely, and is not even on the level of eye-sore that the wand or hat were.

Just my opinion anyways.

Haha, I sure do! I was in the park literally every day taking photos of the demolition process. It was so satisfying seeing that wand turn into a pile of rubble.

Let me addreNONONONONONONONONONONONONONO.

Just stop. And its more like $100M a mile. At the absolute cheapest.

OOI, the Honolulu rail currently under construction has a budget of $5,164m for 20 miles - so $258m a mile.
However, as Disney already has the trains and infrastructure in place, you could just use their cost of the guideway and track - for which they currently have $1,150m budgeted (or $57.5m a mile).

Yes there are differences as the Hololulu transit is not a monorail, but an fully automated, elevated rail system - but I would imagine these are comparable.

I think it's probably fair to say that the cost per mile for installing track in Honolulu is going to be higher than in the far more uncongested space at WDW.
Perhaps $30m per mile is a fair estimate. Can I see Disney dropping that kind of money on it? Not very likely.

It's actually amazing the difference in opinions about BAH between the forums and other social medias. On FB I easily read more disappointment for the hat leaving than approval (or in most of this forum - sheer bliss)

I know the commenters on FB were more casual WDW fans but I was still very surprised to see so much love for it.

Have you seen this?
https://twitter.com/search?f=realtime&q=#SaveTheSorcerersHat&src=hash

Seems like quite a lot of love for the BAH out there.

Personally I quite like the BAH, just not where it is currently sited. If it was outside the main gate, or preferably at the Fantasmic entrance it would be great. It would actually make a good feature for a Fantasmic shop too.
