What's sad is that there are probably some people who would love that.
Then I will have to just dig that proton pack out of my garage and that will be the end of that!

Mmm, Smores.
I think temporary structures meant for celebrations are okay, but when those 'temporary' structures stick around 15 years after the celebration ended, then it becomes a problem. I hope the 60'th decorations are more tasteful and elegant.
The birthday castle never really bothered me anyways, it was nice for the time it existed and I'm glad it's gone. Same thing with the 50th overlay.Me too.
As did a huge amount of guests who complained.nn
Don't have problem with whimsy and fun, I like whimsy and fun. I do, though, have a problem with turning an icon into a Pepto Bismal pink tacky birthday cake.....
Now an open air stage that's slightly higher than a planter, that fits the area and the theme, with retractable lighting trusses and well placed and themed control booths could be another matter. Kind of like that other park has infront of its icon.Replacing the hat with a stage??
This would not be a smart move. I hope this forever remains a rumour. Please.
I think if you polled park visitors a vast majority would be in favour of this.Just show them this and see if they still feel the same way....

"Do you wanna build an icon?"
"Ray, turn on your proton pack, and remember, don't cross the beams!"
just my own imagineering, just think it would be great if they could find solutions to space issues to allow new, without completely destroying the oldIs this your speculation or do you have some sort of info on where they would move it to?
Yup originally it was going to be put in place for Walt's 100th birthday, be a bit larger but more temporary, contain One Man's Dream inside, and have ferris wheels in the 'ears'. It would be situated where the bag check is now, outside the front of the park, as a temporary exhibit - note the Chinese Theater *far* in the distance in the original concept art, not concealed in any way.
The contract is only based on the comics I believe, so what happens in the MCU has no bearing from my knowledge.Guardians of the Galaxy had the extended preview inside a Disney Park, but Jim Hill reported that the in theater effects weren't used in Florida because that would put it closer to an attraction and potentially result in issues. I don't know enough about the language here to see what's permissible. Guardians of the Galaxy would essentially be made into the Avengers family by Disney. In doing so, would that negate their usage in the parks?
I have a feeling the earful tower is going to have a nice meeting with a bulldozer next year. The Chinese Theater isn't uniquely Disney the way the Earful tower is

It was going to be an attraction with the ears as ferris wheels, but I believe the attractions people didn't want to pay for it. So merchandise basically said, "'We'll take it!" Here's the concept art:
If I'm not mistaken this was going at the entrance of the park and you'd enter through one man's dream or some variant.
The entrance sign is something that would fit perfectly with the area though if things were to be redone is all i'm saying. Certainly not with the way the theatre is currently, but if they changed the facade if they changed out the ride, that would make a nice entry way sign. Low probability, but I wouldn't 100% rule it out. You never can with Disney. You mean this?
It's a big box.
That seems a bit tacky
OMG!! Disney should NEVER get rid of the earful tower!I have a feeling the earful tower is going to have a nice meeting with a bulldozer next year.
Unless they move it, there's no point in keeping it.
I'm not saying I WANT them to get rid of it, but they seem to want to our the "Studios" theme, plus it's back in an area that's currently inaccessible to guests (although may eventually be expanded as a part of Pixar.OMG!! Disney should NEVER get rid of the earful tower!
