Is the clock ticking on the Leave a Legacy monoliths at Epcot?

why can't they just put them just outside of epcot to like the left or something in its own little section you don't even have to pay to get into. That way whoever paid for them can continue to go see them ? That would solve an issue with the amount of time they'd have to stay up since Disney could keep them there forever lol
Better yet, just leave them where they are. People aren't running into them. As for whether they are an eyesore or not that is a simple matter of opinion, I don't like the way China looks at EPCOT but that doesn't mean it should be removed. You walk past them and move on. Unlike the Sorcerers Hat these things aren't taking away from the park as a whole anymore than the entry gates take away from it. Complaining about them makes as much sense as complaining about the color of paint they used on a bathroom door.

Because people paid for their images to be inside of the park for a number of years. Disney is just keeping their end of the bargain.

It's special to know that the monorail passes over my image several times every day as well as park music is playing in that area.

two things in fairly certain of is that someday legacy will move or disappear and the big golf ball will remain.
I wouldn't bet my life on the golf bar remaining. I'm sure people have pointed to things in all the parks that they thought were sacred cows never to be touched... and yet... over time you find that nothing is truly sacred.... The reality is the ride in the geo-sphere is getting old and the popularity of it is probably one of the lowest for anything in EPCOT... So why think this thing will last forever? The castles are the closest thing I can think of that are sacred cows and even then I recall they pretty much turned Cinderella's castle into a mountain of candylandish puke for a couple of years in the past...

I am sure the ride inside space ship earth will change however I don't think the ball is going anywhere. Its a major icon of the park and I would put the castle , tree of life and the ball as things they wont get rid of . The ball has been the symbol of the park for 3 decades that is a lot of branding

Say what? As far as the ride being old, it just got a significant upgrade a few years ago (we can save the talk about the video screen ending for another thread). And the lines are always there, from park open to park close, so there's nothing wrong with its popularity.

Probably already mentioned, but I think there is a certain date they have to remain there until. After then who knows, but hopefully they make that area look nicer. It's kind of depressing and it's a big area that isn't exactly inviting for being the main entrance to the park.

That was for a special event/celebration (related to the castle). Spaceship Earth isn't going anywhere. It is the most recognizable part of EPCOT (everyone knows the golf ball). The ride inside can be updated, that's fine, especially since I don't like the new descent they have, which is always the problem using computer programs, they are cool at first, but get dated quickly (like the make your own car in Test Track). But Spaceship Earth really is a classic ride.

They must remain on display at WDW, but they are free to move them.

I am going to throw my hat into the positive ring also. We did "Leave a Legacy" in 2000.
The picture was of my two sons, at ages 6 & 12. When we went back in 2014, the first
thing we did was find their picture. There may have been a better way to display them,
but I really like the memories they hold.

I guess we've just been lucky, every time in the past few years we hit EPCOT the ride has been a walk-on with no more than a couple of minutes wait.

I think FP+ has changed that. Now there's always at least a 10 to 15 minute standby line, and some times of day (like right after park open) much longer.

Someone was looking for attention.

i assure you an internet forum is the last place i would seek attention. i like the tangible kind. you went on a romp because you have personal connections to a wall inside a theme park because i stated that they dont belong there. you took my opinion as some crusade against you and your loved ones when in reality there was no such thing.
