Is it worth it?

All,

I was quite surprised today when after weeks of not being able to get a good meal time I found a 5:05 P.M. time at Ohana. The only problem is that this is the day that MK has extra magic hours and is open until midnight. So my question simply is, is it worth it? Is it worth it to leave MK at 4-430 to head to Ohana for dinner and then return to MK until it closes. I have 4 children and we have never been there for dinner but I am not sure if it is worth it to leave the park during the day. Thanks.

Take a mid day break, get in a nap, then head to dinner and hopefully you and the kids will be able to stay up a little later to enjoy the time in the MK!

I completely agree!! Thats what we normally do. We leave the park for dinner and then return afterwards until the park closes, for us thats the only way to go, plus as said before it is a good and much needed break from all the go, go, go of the park!!

Absolutely, what they said^^
I'm a big fan of mid day breaks, rest, pool, then dinner. We're there in June when the MK EMH hours don't have the place closing till 2:00AM. That's like another entire park day! Have fun at O'Hana and hop the monorail back. The food is awesome and it's one of the restaurants we hit every trip. We don't have small kids any longer so I don't care about the show any more, but the food is great! I'm not putting the show down by the way, it's really fun for the kids. I just love the food.

Definitely! Especially when MK closes that late. 4-4:30 is still early. Even if you were to take 2-3 hours altogether for dinner(travel time to and from included) you'd still be able to return at around 7-7:30pm; still plenty of time to enjoy MK.

We are doing what the OP is doing. I can't wait for Ohana. Thier dinner menu looks great. I don't mind leaving the park for dinner. There isn't that much great to eat in the MK anyway.

Yes, it is worth it!
Ohana is great!
Just take the monorail from the MK to the Polynesian Resort - it is not far - you can actually see the castle fom Ohana.
After you eat, just get back on the monorail & head back to the MK.
Actually, a break from being in the park can rejuvenate you!

Yes, i've eaten there before and the food is remarkable. Also with extra magic hours to give you more time to do things it seems like the best day to go.

i think an emh night is the perfect night to do it particularly at that time. that way you're back into the park having a nice break and still have plenty of hours into the night....imo that's the best time to be in the park.

Oh my goodness yes and your kids will love it. The entertainment is wonderful, it's a relaxing environment and a nice break. You can walk around the beach area and relax for a bit if you like and take a boat ride back. With EMH, it's a perfect day to take the time out to experience this as you're not really losing MK time. Enjoy!
