By “most” do you mean only the urban/suburban areas?

The “moderates” jumped the shark long ago
We live in Ma and can’t find hotels that aren’t real shady anywhere in the NE for less than 250. For instance we stay a night in Lincoln, Nh once a year in December and it’s 350. Have to spend at least 400 to get a not icky hotel at the Cape or Newport etc. If that makes sense.

Not at all pricey around Boston…I hear 😎

And Newport as in the oldest “old money” town in North America? That Newport (which I love…by the way)

I am 20 minutes from Nashville. We have 12 three star hotels in our area in the $100 to $150 range. This is 4th of July weekend with the "guitar drop" fireworks. The 3rd biggest fireworks show in the US for July 4th.

Food really hasn't gone up in the last 5 years to be honest.

Mickey Pretizel w/ Cheese in 2019 was 7.25, it's $7.79 now. 2019 prices are not adjusted for inflation.
Wow! That is surprising.

I’m sure it’s not representative of all food/restaurant items, but if you’d told me the 2019 pretzel price I would have assumed it now costs $9.99 (thinking they would have held back from the mental threshold of $10+).

And you don’t even need to travel as far as Nashville. A hop over to Universal and you can book Cabana Bay for $150, give or take.

I just checked Pop Century yesterday and some early December rates were $320 for a preferred room, $285 for regular.

Another reason Disney is having to throw out lots of discounts. They’ve overpriced their motel 6 resorts with Disney decor

Ya but average hotels like holiday inn express in most parts of the country go for that. The 5th sleeper rooms are an okay price. I think the tickets and food are the absurd costs.
Yeah, no. “Most parts of the country?” In the last 6 months we’ve stayed in very nice hotels Denver, Times Square and on the San Diego bay next to the Gaslamp district and paid low $200’s. Hotels in NE Arkansas and Mississippi were in low $100s.

For us the more bang for your buck in terms of quality hotels , food especially buffets is in Las Vegas on the Strip. Sin City knows keep the pricing lower so they are hoping we can lose our money in the casinos which is a proven method. Even in the Vegas airport terminal there are already one arm bandits to take your money. The one way Disney tries to extract more money is there is a merchandise store at the exit of the attraction ride.

We would rather stay on Hotel Plaza Blvd in nicer hotels, walk to Disney Springs and take hotel shuttles to the parks.

Oh for deluxe resort guests? Yeah that’s not the people they like. That’s those awful DVC people that come too often and don’t spend much when they are in the parks. Most are even AP holders which is even worse. Bob doesn’t like me visiting so often when he can trick families of 4 to go all out and spend $8k there in a week for a once in a lifetime family vacation
As one of those filthy causals who is back on the forums specifically for a trip in October to a Deluxe Resort, the kind who hasn't been to Disney since the Katiebug thread was new. . . well, at least Bob loves me.

And $8K sounds like a bargain.
