Hey the iPhone has applications, for MK, Epcot, AK, and DTD...The maps are "interactive" and you basically can click on any attraction, restroom, and dining places. Once you click on them it gives you info on the rides, and how long they are. As for the dining places, once you click them it tells you what kind of food, and they have Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner tabs then when you click them the menus actually come up. The menus are attached to the menus on allears.netThese apps are awesome and TOTALLY worth having if not out of need but to play with out of boredom while youre missing the world!

They are each .99 cents.

Just type in Disney in the search field. They also have one for Disneyland.

There are all four WDW parks, DTD and both California parks available.

All but California Adventure have been updated recently to be GPS-capable. I'm guessing they're waiting until DCA is finished its overhaul to do the same with it. I've had all of them for a while, though honestly haven't tried them out in the parks yet.

I have these apps downloaded onto my iPod Touch. I haven't made the jump to iPhone because I can't get insurance on it. I drop my phone a lot and have left it in various public places many times. I just don't trust myself.

The apps are really cool, tho. I have all 4 parks. As long as I'm where there's a wifi signal I can tour my favoritest places to be. :animwink:

Lame. Does everything a free park map does. Only you can whip out the map much faster than dragging your finger through the park. Not worth a dollar.

So what you are saying is thats its not worth $4 to have all of WDW at your finger tips to be interactive when you can show friends and even fellow vacationers menus, rides, and anything else?

Yeah you really shouldnt have even typed those 2 sentaces when you could have easily just said " I wish I had an iPhone"

Well, you got the first word right.

If you actually saw the apps, you'd know that it provides much more than what can be gleaned from a paper map. Restaurant menus are available at the touch of a finger. The GPS allows you to know where you are relative to where you want to be without having to identify landmarks on the map.

And I can do it all a lot faster on my iPhone than I can with an awkward-to-fold paper map that gets dog-eared in my pocket during the course of a full day at the park.

Well, then you need one of these, puppies!! Toughskin from Speck. I've got this case and dropped my iPhone a few times and it actually bounced, lol!!

No Monty, you're wrong...I'll just get my park maps I brought home from September, carry those around and open them to show them to people, and for me to look out. I mean they are so detailed and have menus on them also. I just hope when I explain to iTunes that's folded park maps are easier and more convieniant to carry around I'm sure I'll get my $4 back.

I downloaded the DHS, Epcot and MK ones, I didn't see the AK or DTD!!! I will have to check those out!

That is one drawback to the iPod Touch vs. the iPhone: unless you are in a wifi area (which we all know practically doesn't exist at WDW) you can't access the online parts of the apps (like menus, etc). You know, this is a great arguement for having the iPhone. I suppose I should look at it like I do sunglasses: when I had cheap sunglasses I constantly lost or broke them but when I finally bought Oakley's and Maui Jim's..well..those puppies are cared for like another family member! LOL!

That 'bouncy' skin...is that an iFrogz?! We have those for our older iPod videos (we have the 60g & both boys have 30g's). iFrogz rock!

Man, you guys are crazy buying expensive accesories for your iPhones/iPods.

My motto: "If it isn't shipped from Hong Kong, it isn't worth having!"

Seriously, check out: www.dealextreme.com Everything is really cheap, and protects just as well as the expensive iFrogz cases.

I made a thread a few weeks ago about Disney apps, and the creator of the Hidden Mickey one posted in the thread. Looks like I forgot to respond to request more info. Whoops.

Don't forget to get the Bolt "Rhinoball" free app. I prefer it to Super Monkey Ball!
