I wouldn’t worry about wreck it Ralph taking over or any non imagination related IP. @marni1971 confirmed that the only IP proposal he knew of was the inside out one, which is just one proposal out of many, and we are still a long ways from imagination’s redo, so just like he also said, anything can change from here till the next few years. Nothing is official. all we can do now is let Disney know we want dreamfinder back along with figment! I already sent my letters!

Thank god for Marni! I hope Disney makes the right choice. I wish Iger would give Chapek the boot and make Tony Baxter in charge of the parks especially EPCOT.

Yes I totally agree! Tony Baxter is a true legend! Also, if marni wasn’t here, we wouldn’t have as many interesting discussions on this forum, so I think we are definitely lucky to have him on here.

Chapek won't be replaced as long as the parks are making money. If Chapek was smart he would put someone in charge who understands what Epcot Center was and could be again, and he could sit back and take all the credit. He's too busy micromanaging and thinking of "clever" ways to get more IP crammed down our throats and then selling the associated merchandise. Bottom line numbers show it's working. There is a lot of disagreement amongst leadership and WDI respectively and between both of those groups as well. They have team building activities planned for both of them - when maybe they only need to look in the mirror.
The Bobs are in town now for some of these activities along with most of those who report directly to Big Bobs. I'm sure all of them flying to Florida will get things running smoothly again.

I hope Disney realizes, that fans will be livid if they decide to get rid of figment altogether, and never bring back dreamfinder, replacing imagination with some IP. If Disney was smart about this, then they would bring the original back in some form or another, or else Disney would face a loss of major potential and fan backlash.

I wish only Imagineers could work their way up to run WDI. Moving executives and managers from completely different departments at Disney was a tradition that was set forth by Michael Eisner, and unfortunately it’s stuck. It’s why every change at the parks since then have been implemented to sell merchandise. That’s the thought process that we have to appeal to :/
But this is why Figment has a good opportunity of sticking around. His merchandise out-sells other characters in EPCOT (so much so that it took Disney a month to get the sleeping Figment plushies re-stocked) and while Dreamfinder is hardly ever found on any merchandise, when he is, those items go pretty quickly, too. Keep buying the merch, folks...those are numbers the current leadership can understand quite clearly. And write to leadership directly. That’s not data that can be misconstrued.

The head of Walt Disney Imagineering is Bob Weis, who was the creative lead for the Disney-MGM Studios, its 1994 expansion, Disney’s America, the Disney’s California Adventure rebuild and Shanghai Disneyland. He ran his own architecture firm between for a while before coming back to do Disney’s California Adventure but his history is in the parks. Walt Disney Imagineering has never been in charge of the parks.

Something that kind of bugs me, is the fact that almost every figment animatronic from the original imagination attraction has survived, and they’re all in very good hands, and yet there is no trace of any Dreamfinder animatronics anywhere.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe he was re-skined into another animatronic somewhere? I’m not too sure of that though.

I'm pretty sure they've used Dreamfinder's head mold for the Mayor in Phantom Manor, but who knows what they did with the original

Disney knows what we fans want for imagination, and they know what new guests want, and I’m sure Disney will be careful with this one to please both new guests and us fans. Hopefully this includes Dreamfinder, but we will just have to wait and see what they come up with. I’m sure they don’t want another Journey Into Your Imagination situation on their hands again...
