Agreed.
I think when the time comes, I will make an ID the way I would like it to look, using my avatar and screen name.
I would just like to make the point that the idea was a good one in the first place. Different opinions took it in different directions and there's not anything necessarily wrong with that, either. The point is to be recognizable to other members . . .without breaking any rules or laws.

Wow. This whole thing has gotten quite interesting. I feel as if I've been watching a high school drama unfold over the past 10 pages. :lol:

If anyone looks back, there was another thread that started this topic. I made the suggestion there that we get a few ideas, because a few ideas were on the board, and take a poll... But that never happened... One person decided on what would be done and ran with it.

That being said, I don't think this is a bad plan. The problem you're going to run into though is that without providing everyone a voice on what to do, you're going to get dissenting opinions... Moreso than if everyone at least had their say. Then the dissenting opinions offend the person with the original idea, etc etc... And the next thing you know, you have 5 pages of people fussing at each other.

The whole point of this thing is just to have something that identifies you as a WDWMagicer. The exact form and layout, in my opinion, probably SHOULD be allowed to be just a little unique... Because let's face it, we all have our own on-line personalities on here. No one should be offended by that... Wearing an ID shows people your allegience to this website... NOT TO THE IDEA SOMEONE CAME UP WITH OF WEARING AN ID.

There's two choices here... Either take a poll, or be okay with the slight variences. The only way to avoid variences is if Steve comes up with a lanyard or something that is uniform, and you put your screen name in there.

I agree with Steve though... I'd REALLY watch putting characters on these things, or insinuating copyright on the design. This is exactly why I thought my suggestion of something very generic like the paint chip idea made good sense... No chance to offend anyone, and you can't get into hot water. I can picture someone within Disney asking someone "hey, what is that in your lanyard" and a week later Steve gets a nasty-gram and the whole thing gets shot down.
