The lack of attractions is being addressed in the massive expansion.
Hardly massive. The park was bare to begin with, the 2 new E Tickets should have been there from day one. HKDL has problems but nothing like EDL had when it opened into a perfect storm.

it's the only disney park that doesn't dominate the market its in and has never achieved its initial attendance expectations. It's beaten by ocean park, which is opening its own mega expansion to compete with disney's.

DCA? WDS? DLP?

3 new themed lands opening up is pretty massive to me. If it isn't massive to you then what is a massive expansion?

Really Epcot was in better shape a decade ago so that would be 1999-2000.

TLS: Was a ghost town
WOL: falling apart:
JII: This was when they redid the ride withpout Figment JITYI
MS: wasn't open and Horizons was gone
SSE: WHile it had an ending needed an overhaul
UOE: still the same as to day.

So I fail to see how Epcot was in better shape a decade ago.
IllumiNations:Reflections of Earth' Tapestry of Nations' Spaceship Earth 94. It still had the EPCOT message. Since then it has evolved into a Saturday morning cartoon.

Aren't you exaggerating a bit?

To me, Nemo is one of the most edutaining places in the park! Isn't that EPCOT's message?

Part of the park has evolved into being more kid-friendly, but I think a lot of the park still has some of the original Epcot message.

In my opinion:

Spaceship - Downgrade
Seas - Improvement to make it more relevant but the ride has no educational message.
Space - Downgrade
Test Track - Downgrade
Energy - the same
Life - Closed
Land - Improvements but would still like a video for Soarin that shows off the whole planet not just cali
Innoventions - vastly improved

I'll do the same

Spaceship - same, just different, vastly superior post show is the real ending of the ride
Seas - same, better ride, reduction of "history" is missed but not by all, relevancy means more people will explore and learn
Space - Are Horizons fans that nuts to think the ride closed is superior to an open attraction about space?
TT - Same, again, different. Instead of the history and future presentations that used to be all around Epcot they've moved towards the TT model of modern education through entertainment and flash (see MS)
Engery- worse, old, great script and i love the ride, but pop culture gets dated (hey this ride was back when Alex had a mustache!)
Life - worse, closed, can't argue there
Land - VAST improvement. Soarin gives the entertainment and flash that gets people inspired and caring, Living continues it, and Circle of Life is old but continues the conservation message. Better food, layout, front area, and theme.
Innoventions - great improvement, though turn over of some areas from attractions to seating areas is alarming.

I'm pretty sure that the Imagineers use Sorcerer Mickey tags, if I'm wrong someone please correct me. And I really am liking what they are doing with DHS so far, can't wait!

I think they may be phasing out Sorcerer Mickey as the WDI mascot, the recent (last 6 months or so) WDI business cards I've seen don't use him any more.

Kind of a bummer, he is the perfect logo for them.

I think it is time for a new logo for WDI. Sort of like the old WED logo

Sorta like the cover of Jeff Kurtti's Imagineering Legends book.

I wish Disney could come up with original ideas more often like they did with Everest. A Monsters Inc. roller coaster? Wheres the creativity in that?

Riding in your own door vehicle that may or may not be powered by riders' screams is pretty creative imo

Having just watched the movie again tonight I agree. The twists and turns in the movie could be readily incorporated into the ride. It would still take a great deal of imagination and creativity to make the ride happen....

Actually, all the Imagineers at the Haunted Mansion interactive queue testing had WED nametags on, not a single one had a sorcerer hat/mickey on it. They were pretty cool nametags!

I wonder if that means anything.

It was similar to the logo previously posted. The guy I talked to (Eric) had a nametag that said WED, then in cursive underneath that was imagineering. Then the next line was his name, and the last time was "Class of 198(something)", I forgot which year. I didn't see every Imagineers nametag that was there, but the ones I did see had this style and they all looked like pretty old nametags.

There is a rumor that John Lasseter wanted to return to the WED name.
