I am reading rumors of a full demo of the Pavilion. If true would this mean that Disney has found a new sponsor? and if there is a demo and new building what would be the attraction?

Personally, Figment has been a beloved character to me for almost as long as I can remember. I would hate to see him go, but his attraction doesn't get a lot of attention. If they could find a way to re-vamp him AND put in a P&F attraction where CEO is, it might be a great way to build viewership at the Imagination Pavilion!

The problem with ride attendance is something that dates back to when HISTA was first put in: They redesigned the exterior flow in such a fashion that people went towards the Magic Eye theater instead of the ride. When they used lower attendance as an excuse to kill the first one, they kept that flow and only marked the new ride with a banner they probably printed at Kinkos. That's part of why when JIYI was replaced with the current one, attendance was still low because again, the entrance to the ride queue is marked by a pretty crappy banner.

Murf is posting a rumor on building demo. He did state "rumor" which probably means he hasn't confirmed it. His info is always solid once he puts it out there.

Maybe that just refers to the insides? Because (someone correct me if wrong) but I believe wdw1974 firmly stated the building itself would not come down. or maybe it was articos,,,now I forget lol but it was one of them I thought.

I find it hard to believe that Baxter would gain influence in forced mostly retirement over a project he wanted to influence while employed full time.
Spirit suggested it might have been a "Go into semi-retirement and we will let you help fix Imagination!" type of deal.

He was running around screaming that the Test Track refurb had been canceled until nearly the last minute. He's a good source on things that have already happened but I wouldn't put much weight into him being a solid inside source.

Ok guys coming back after a break from the forums so I apologize but I'm catching up! LOL! :D

I heard of people who did a "jump test" and determined that the ride track is still somewhere hidden underneath the floor too. (may have even been in this thread or another here). What that means or if its true I'm not sure, but its uplifting.
Fairly confident that's a big rumor. Yes the floor area is what is called "raised floor" so jumping on it would reveal "space" beneath it but I believe it's being used for what raised floor traditionally is and that is to have an easier way to run cabeling etc. for the "attractions" of ImageWorks. For the longest time there was a rumor that the "carousel" was still there under the floor as well (part of it would be under the current loading area). Sure it's entirely possible that rather than remove the track they left it and ran the cabeling around/through it too but my gut says that's wishful thinking. :)

Hate to add fuel to the fire but went to Epcot today and rode Imagination, place looks like it just got a good scrubbing and repaint but allot of minor props where MIA, at the exit shop there was only 1 small display of Figment items, other than that it seemed like the store was being used as a clearance center for Disneyland, there where piles of Disneyland Dice, playing cards ect.
Why in the world would they be selling Disneyland stuff at Epcot? That makes no sense to me. What makes even less sense is, let's pretend indeed it's because they are clearing out the Figment stuff slowly for a non-Figment refurb... why would they start that before a refurb is even announced or paperwork to do said refurb has been filed? That entire huge space to the right as you exit, before the store (that used to be used for those laser cut things) would be a better place to sell other random merchandise I'd think. Stupid stupid stupid. Do you by chance have any pictures?

Lord I hope if he's right it's a demo of the inside to refurb it and not an actual tearing down of yet another pavilion. The landscape of Epcot would be sad without the big mirror'd pavilion!
