I'm surprised with all the calls to bring even more Pixar into TL...I'd personally like to see less and less. The current set-up has moved so far away from Walt's vision that you can hardly call it "Tommorowland".

It needs a true update, with a valid vision of what's to come. At the current moment I feel like I'm walking through a multi acre gift shop. Not a "bustling spaceport"...

While I love Pixar and all of the movies they've made to date. I'd like them to focus on the other parks (DHS the most) and keep the hands off of MK (except for the occasional Meet and Greet).

I don't really see anything from pixar that says future. Yes Wall-E is set in the future, but its view of Earth is about the same as Idiocracy.

Its not like Disney would make a better Spiderman attraction than UNI anyway.

I honestly think this is a huge part of the problem with Disney attempting to re-acquire these properties. Any Spiderman attraction would have to be better than the current Spiderman attraction, and Disney simply hasn't done that yet. It's not to say that the Imagineers are incapable, but will Disney be willing to pay for a mega E-Ticket?

Seeing as the guy who created Spiderman at Universal now works for Disney, it's very plausible they could outdo it.

Townbridge didn't create Spider-man single handedly. In fact, Thierry Coup, one of the heads of Universal Creative, had just as much of an influence on the attraction as Townbridge.

But creatively isn't really the issue with Disney as muchas being cheapskates.

Is Disney planning on using Marvel for the parks or is that just fan talk? I think they bought Marvel mainly for marvel studios and the mega money making superhero films, and merchandise sales.

Iger confirmed it during last week's annual shareholder meeting:

"We've done some preliminary design work. … We're working on some concepts," Iger said. "It's our hope, in a few places around the world, Marvel characters will appear either in attractions or lands or in some form to provide entertainment like our Disney characters do."

Awesome. Although I know this would be so far down the road, I hope this feeds into the rumored concept of a Heroes/Villains smaller park.

Notice he said around the world for marvel though. As with the compliance rules stated above of contracts, you can probably leave FL out of any of those possibilities when it comes to Marvel characters that are well known.

While some people like to believe that Disney can't use the Marvel characters because of some contracts signed before Disney purchased the company, rest assured Disney with their lawyers get that flushed down the toilet.

I mean, Disney spent billions to aquire Marvel, you really think they will let Universal hold exclusive rights?

Seriously?

There is no such concept as a Heroes/Villains park. It is purely a fan-made idea.
And Marvel has only been considered for two locations thus far: Shanghai and Paris.

Fine by me. I'd honestly love to see Disneyland Paris get a Heroes/Villains style park. And they do have the option of a third park by 2020...so...

I believe the Sentinel article on Iger's comments pointed out that Universal holds rights "in perpetuity for its Marvel Super Hero Island attraction" and has a 10-year deal on Spiderman rights in Japan. But could they also look to move Marvel into the Hong Kong park?

I could see a Heros/Villians themed land at DHS, but not sure about a whole park...I definitely could see Disney Sea happen in Orlando...or at DL. But unfortunately, any new park built in the states would be a mammoth undertaking financially. With all the out of work construction it would seem like the time to do it affordably

I think we'll see a few more parks overseas, and a few more expansions before any new american parks are plucked from blue sky :)

After Pandora breaks ground, the next big investment in florida will most likely be another MK expansion/redo...they got space in both TL and FL/LS to do some pretty special things.

Some people also like to believe that the theme parks are the only and or biggest money making part of the Marvel deal investment. Deeply wrong. The deal was made off of the fact that the movies make so much buck as well as the video games, cartoons and other popular media, particularly for young male audience.

The theme parks and the resorts are the lowest money makers on the chain, even below Cruises.

If they were able to bring Marvel into FL within the next ten years, they would of announced it by now. Just look at how quick they were to announce and jump the gun on The Avatar stuff for Animal Kingdom.

Now that John Carter is the biggest flop in movie history I'd say its a done deal that Iger is jumping in bed with the avatar franchise.

Nothing for DL? Wasnt there a Stark Expo idea tossed around to replace Innovations at DL?
