I would LOVE some opinions on my dining....

So today was an exciting day for me and my fellow trip goers for our 2011 trip(Aug. 9-16) as we got together to decide on our table service meals on our escepade. And since we all love the world here I would love some insight.

My first question is which dining option should we choose? I do know my way around the ins and outs of the dining plans but my problem is that we are torn between two. We have decided on at least one table service meal a day and we are sure of the fact that we will be getting snacks throughout our trip but we arent sure of how many meals we will eat each day. So should we go with the "delux dining" giving us three meals per night and two snacks per day. Or just the base dining option with one snack, one quick service meal, and one table service meal. With that in mind here is a list of what we selected for our table service dining.

1900 Park Fare
50's Prime Time Cafe
Chef Mickey's
Le Dellier Steakhouse
Liberty Tree Tavern
The Plaza Restaurant
Sci-fi Dine-In Theater

Thank you for any input on these issues, our dining selections, and dining options!!! Your feedback is very greatly appreciated!!!!

You should pick the deluxe plan if
- You are really big eaters
- You have spent lots of time at WDW and can skip attractions for sit down meals
- You want to try a lot of Signature restaurants

Other that that, you should pick the standard plan.

1900 Park Fare - Fine dinner buffet. The character interaction is marvelous. The Grand Floridian is a beautiful setting for dinner.
50's Prime Time Cafe - Fun interactive dining. The food was good, the service can be comedic at times. I like the PBJ shake and fried chicken.
Chef Mickey's - Never eaten here
Le Cellier Steakhouse - Extremely hard to get reservation. Signature dining for dinner. Good food, great service, dark ambience.
Liberty Tree Tavern - I like the food here. It is my favorite comfort Thanksgiving type food. I have had great service here.
The Plaza Restaurant - Never eaten here because I don't want to use a dining point on a $19 sandwich. I hear that the desserts are wonderful.
Sci-fi Dine-In Theater - Mediocre food, great theming, fun atmosphere, decent service and great milkshakes.

Sci-fi Dine-In Theater is a super cool joint with average food. We go there every time we visit WDW. I will say that lunch is much better as dinner does not offer the hamburger and fries. The rest of the list looks fine.

The Plaza is nice, simple food served in a cute little tea room. I really enjoyed my meal there last year, though I'd suggest booking as early in the day as possible. Once the tiny room fills up it could be a lot less enjoyable.

Looking at your choices I think the deluxe plan would be overkill.

I wouldn't do the Deluxe plan unless you are going to add more signature meals than just Le Cellier -
and I wouldn't do the DDP unless you so one signature meal per day.

To touch a little on what Foolish Mortal was saying about The Plaza, yes, it's expensive for what you're getting. But at the same time, the prices are low enough that it doesn't make sense to use a dining credit on it.

Now the Le Cellier is a Signature Dining restaurant, which requires two table service credits, I'd say, if you get reservations for all the restaurants you've listed, pay for The Plaza out of pocket, and then use that saved credit for Le Cellier.

Another good value, a place you'd be smart to pay out of pocket and then use the credit for a Signature Dining restaurant, is Trails' End, the buffet at Fort Wilderness. If there's a day you're at MK, you can take a boat over to FW, eat there for dinner (it's also often not too busy, and may be able to take you without reservations), and then boat back to MK, or take a bus from there to another park for the rest of the night (an especially good idea for a night where MK has extra magic hours, the boat ride and dinner gives you a few hours out of the ridiculousness, and then go back once you're rested).

I also agree that Sci-Fi doesn't have the best food. You may want to consider getting reservations one day for late in their lunch menu, and just ordering appetizers and/or dessert, and paying out of pocket.

And as others have said, unless you're thinking about eating many more table service meals than you've currently listed, or trying more Signature Dining restaurants, the Deluxe Plan probably won't be such a savings. I find a good way to use the Deluxe Dining Plan is to regularly plan either
a: using snacks for a light breakfast, having a table service lunch and a Signature Dinner
or
b: Having a big sit down breakfast, using snack credits for a light lunch, then a Signature Dinner.

I agree. If you are going to do deluxe, do it to try more of the signature meals instead of the one credit ones.

1900 Park Fare-Prefer them for breakfast, but dinner is also good. Character interactions are great.
50's Prime Time Cafe- ALOT of fun! Great food.
Chef Mickey's-Never been but heard it's good.
Le Dellier Steakhouse-wonderful! Very hard to get in though.
Liberty Tree Tavern-great comfort food that is terrific after a long day in the parks.
The Plaza Restaurant-never been.
Sci-fi Dine-In Theater-go for the atmosphere but the food is just ok.

Had dinner at Park Fare 1900. Food was great but expensive. Loved the character interaction.

Liberty Tree Tavern - have not been in a few years but it was one of the best meals we ever had.

Your TS choices look good. The Sci-Fi is fun, but the food stinks. Stick to burgers there. They are not on the dinner menu but are available if you ask.

Deluxe Dinning Plan wouldn't be worth it unless you decide to add more 2 table service restaurants or have multiple table service meals a day.

Plaza Restaurant isn't worth using a table service on a dinning plan over like slappy magoo mentioned. It has good food based on the last time I ate there a few years ago. Plazza is fine place to pay out of your pocket if you are going to Le Cellier for dinner because Le Cellier is turning into a 2 table service Restaurant for dinner.

I went to Le Cellier many times, and I enjoy their food. I heard in the past that the menu is going to change for lunch and dinner. Dinner is going to change into a signature restaurant. Le Cellier for lunch is staying as a table service.
