I wonder if we could peek...

We're throwing around thoughts of what to try to squeeze in for our anniversary this September since it seems just wrong to let our 20th go by without something special. The inside/magic porthole vs. verandah debate is currently on. We've only ever cruised with verandahs or suites so we worry we'll enjoy the novelty of the porthole for 10 minutes then be over it. I wish I could physically walk into an inside stateroom. If we happen to be on a not full ship I wonder if they would let us take a peek. (Obviously not the Fantasy next month...LOL!)

It never hurts to ask! :)

Check with the CMs at the area of the ship where you book your next cruise and see if they will or someone will arrange a tour of the room. At our DVC home, we asked to see the Grand Villa at AKL-KV for a future visit and they were happy to oblige. Seems that the rebook area on the Fantasy would be where to inquire.

FYI: Jealous!

Why not have both? -Cue Mexican Music- Anyway… in all seriousness go for the ocean-view maybe. Half verandah half interior… plus not as much as a verandah.

We had always sailed with verandahs until last May when we booked an inside stateroom (I can't remember the reasoning for doing so...other than I think we just wanted to give it a try...and then we almost upgraded at the port, but we held out and made ourselves keep that promise to try it out). Well, guess what? We loved our inside stateroom. The main reason was the layout; most of the insides have the bed against the back wall, facing the door (rather than against the side wall facing the opposite side wall). Having it this way gives it a more open and spacious feel. I will be honest, I missed that verandah, but you know what? I spent most of my time outside of the stateroom anyway, and when I wanted to be outside looking at the ocean I would just find a spot on deck and plop myself down. If you are doing just a 3-day, I say go for it! There's not enough time on a cruise that length to really miss the verandah. ;)

Congratulations! DW and I celebrated our 20th last year with a DVC purchase. We liked it so much we're adding more!
Congrats to you, too!

We're still totally in the air on what to do. When I say up in the air, I mean it. We're looking at everything from B&B's in Ireland to Disneyland or San Francisco. No clue what we'll decide on. I think maybe we'll just keep mulling it over and watch for any special pricing to roll out for that time frame with any of the top contenders. ;)

Do the B&B in Ireland. Trust me.
