I wish we could say "Bye Bye" to Fantasmic

I'm a yearly Disney guest and I'm wrapping up my CP here at the World. In all, I've seen Fantasmic 3 times since its debut and not once have I been the slightest bit impressed with it. There is one word that fittingly describes Fantasmic in my opinion, and that word is "LAME." The actual concept of Mickey having a dream turned nightmare and rescuing it is...idk what is that??? I mean for the most part you're just watching a movie...wow awesome :hammer: they try to make it dramatic during certain live scenes but it comes out as kind of corky or cheesy. Lastly, via word of mouth, I hear that it's rare that all the effects are working properly. Does anyone feel the same way?

I know a lot of you love Fantasmic but a lot of you also think that there are too many attractions/shows that are in more than one Disney park throughout the world. So, if we could say "Bye bye" to Fantasmic, what kind of nite time show would you like to see at the Studios?

Couple of questions for you.....

In the three times you saw fantasmic, was the theater completely full? Was parents and kids (beside you) going ooooooooo, ahhhhhh throughout the show? Did the girls love the princess part, and the folks cheer with a standing ovation at the end when it was over??

Theres a reason this show has lasted for so long and shows no signs of leaving soon....its still WAAAYYYYY to popular for both new and returning guests.

The last time I saw it there were only three sections with people in it. Mickey and the section on its left and right and the other questions i honestly can't remember.

...Maybe we can get something like DisneySea Symphony? That would fit the park well.

Interesting....

While I agree with you that I would prefer to see something replace Fantasmic (I've never much cared for it either), it does still have a rather large following, so I really don't expect to see it go anytime soon. I think some updating and/or plussing would be a happy meduim, especially in terms of the water projections and other lighting/pyro effects.

But I do like the finale music, though. Its catchy! :D

It's a one and done for us, meaning we've seen it once and have no desire to ever see it again.

But, it still seems to be packing 'em in so I'm sure it will be around for a while longer.

This is my all time favorite thing to do at Disney, the finale almost brings me to tears EVERY time. I can't Imaging DHS w/o it...neither could all the folks that were angry when they stopped showing F! nightly.

I think Fantasmic is great. Theres a reason why its so hard to get a seat. Maybe they could get rid of a different show such as Beauty and the Beast or The Little Mermaid. Two shows I have no desire to see. :goodnevil

Fantasmic! needs technical upgrades plus a new dragon (DLR is getting one!) and something to replace Pocahontas which is just lame.

A better looking riverboat and an improved Aladdin segment would be good too and maybe some editing to the show's runtime.

The concept is good, it just needs the kind of regular upgrades it was always intended to get.

Fantasmic is one of my favorite attractions.I think disney puts a lot of shows because when people don't feel like riding rides, they could take a break and watch a show.I used to feel the same way about disney having too many shows but I'm glad because the shows can entertain people that can't ride most of the rides. I think Fantasmic is the best show of all disney shows and 95% of these people disagree with you

If everyone's clapping and wooing for the show is the stadium 97% of people who go to MGM(I hate the name DHS) disagree with you:eek:

They just need to get rid of the Beauty and the Beast show **hurl** And replace it with an alice in wonderland show :)

The crowds say otherwise, as do first time guests and those who have only seen the show once or twice over the years.

The enhancements from California would be welcome, though. If and when we do get them ;)

I love that show. I watch it every year I go to WDW. I even tell first time visitors not to miss it. But, everyone has there own point of view. So, I am sorry you do not like it.
