Ok..so, from what Ive researched online, it seems like a lot of people go to the parks alone, but this doesnt seem so in real life. From everyone Ive told I wanted to go solo Ive gotten nothing but wierd faces and have been told that it was completely ridiculous! I still would like to go..so I guess from now on Ill just have to keep my "wierdness" to myself? lol :veryconfu

i spoke to a older gentleman today at Port Orleans Riverside and he ahs been coming to the parks alone for a while now.
he says it's the easiest way to go with all the single rider lines! he enjoys just taking his time at the parks, not having his family to bug him about doing everything he doesn't wanna do.
this seems like a good strategy honestly if you wanna do what YOU wanna do. and honestly, if you're having fun, who really cares what anyone thinks?lol You will never see anyone that you see in WDW again so who cares

There are many who have gone solo, including myself. People did give me strange looks as well when I said I was going solo. When asked why, my stock answer was that Walt Disney World was like a second home to me. Why would I mind or be uncomfortable being by myself at home?

You'd be surprised its quite fun! You can see what ever you want to see, eat whatever you want, and best of all its pretty much you! Yes its fun to be with a family and friends but if you ever get the chance to go solo I highly recomend it! Plus you'll see so many more details that most of the time you might miss.

I have been several times on my own. It is a great time. Certainly it is not what the majority do. I would not worry about what looks people give you. If you want to go, do it

I've taken two solo trips. When I went the first time I did get those strange looks. However, I didn't let it bother me because that's what I wanted to do. I ended up having the most fun that I've ever had at WDW!

Definitely go if you have the chance!

I've never been to WDW alone, but I have done Disneyland solo. It was an awesome time, I highly recommend solo trips.

I have gone with someone ,next went solo! Believe it or not....I like solo ...if I want to take my time & see EVERYTHING at my leasure! Then it's fun going with someone & pointing out things people never see!

No need to feel weird...many people go solo.
It just may seem weird to some people because WDW is targeted towards families and is seen as a "family place".

Go and have a great time!
Being just you, you might get more done actually and do things you wouldn't normally do on a non-solo trip!

I take 4 or 5 trips a year, most of which are solo. I guess if it is weird to go solo, I'm pretty strange!

Seriously, I like going solo a heck of a lot better. You get to relax and go at your own pace and you don't have to worry about keeping up with a group of people. I'm a loner, so the odd looks do not bother me at all...most people tend to think I am a CM anyway.

I'm in the process of planning my first solo trip for my birthday in September. DD can't go because of college, DH is not much of a fan (he'd rather spend his vacation in Montana but he would go with me if I really wanted him to) so I decided, why not?

I'm really looking forward to dong everything on MY timetable, being able to take in things we're normally to rushed to enjoy. Like others have said, if someone thinks you're weird, why shoudl you care? Go and have fun! I intend to!

I have been to WDW solo once. It is a strange feeling at first but disappears quickly. I found that I didn't ride nearly as much as I thought I would but instead, I found myself concentrating on taking pictures and video. Which was EXTREMELY nice since I was able to take my time and get just the shots I wanted. Didn't have to worry about holding my family up or hearing my daughter shout "Hurry up daddy!".

I highly recommend that any Disney Parks fan go alone at least one time.

As far as what other people think and people looking at you like you're weird, who cares? You gotta live to make yourself happy. If people think it's weird to go to Disney alone, they don't gotta do it!! LOL Just go, have fun, and spend time on all those things that the family usually rushes you on.

It's only ever my wife and I that go. I couldn't imagine going without her. Heck, I couldn't imagine going without her even WITH other people.
That being said, I would be bored, I think, not talking to someone all day or having someone to share experiences with....especially in line.

I go solo quite a bit. If I am in the area for work, I stay a few extra days at WDW

Many people I know think that is "strange". Doing things on their own is something that a lot of people are not comfortable with. Somtimes I go out to eat alone, or I just go out alone. I have people say "I could never go out to eat alone, I would feel like everyone is staring at me" When you go to a restaruant, and you see a person eating alone, do YOU stare at them? It is some sort of fear that most people seem to have.

Then when you do finally do something by yourself, you find out that amazingly, its not so bad, heck its even enjoyable.

Since I live in Tampa, there are times that I will go by myself ( son may be at school or wife is working). I quite enjoy some quiet time.Never paid attention
if people stared or not though.

totally recommend solo trips you get to do what you want when you want. i have done 2 solo trips and both times whenever i told anyone i was going alone they would give me a look like are you crazy? a couple actually said they would be scared to go alone in case they got lost ect ect..

I've gone solo a few times. I loved it.

I also have friends in the area, so if I get a little lonely I give them a call to meet me.

WDW by yourself is a treat, that's quite sweet.

I say it depends...I've played in the parks by myself many times and have enjoyed it...BUT...it's very different when you're by yourself knowing you shouldn't be for whatever reason. That's happened to me a few times and that sucks. So if you're planning to go on your own you'll have a good time.
