I guess going solo to WDW really is strange??

I've done Universal solo, but never Disney. I'd love to every now and then though. If I want to go ride the steam train for an hour I don't want to have to argue with people who can't stand it. If I want to take the raft to TSI and just enjoy the scenery I don't want to hear about how boring it is. If I want to ride Pirates 4 times in a row, I'd like to be able to do that.

Now, the majority of the fun for me is sharing a trip with someone else, but just every now and then I'd like to go alone. I remember when I did Universal alone I rode Jaws 5 times in a row. There's no way I could have done that with other people.

The first two times I went to Disney World, I was with a friend. The first trip went fine, since my find pretty much let me decide everything. The second time the friend I was with irritated me so much that I vowed to go alone the next time and I did. Now, I don't think I would EVER be able to go with anyone else ever again. I have been 4 times since those first two visits, and am now so used to being alone I think another person would drive me insane! You could what you want, when you want, and as much as you want. You'll end up doing things you might not otherwise have done. It's easier to get a lot more done when you are alone than when you are with others.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I've only ever been there with my family, though I occasionally wander off by myself. I'm the kind of guy who can't even eat lunch alone, I feel awkward by myself.
I'm really looking forward to going with my girlfriend on our honeymoon in a few years. It'll be a treat to only have to worry about one other person!

Yeah, I get those funny looks from people I know too. But these are not Disney fans. They like it, but don't LOVE it. I love going solo. I love meeting other solo folks, or really anyone. I get invited to join people for lunch sometimes. Who cares what anyone thinks. Go. Enjoy.

I've gone solo twice and I am planning on going again either late this Fall or early next Spring. The only time it felt a bit odd is checking in for the Magic Express. As soon as I hit the resort I hit my groove. I only eat counter service since sitting in a nice restaurant by myself is sort of uncomfortable but other than that I've never felt out of place at the parks or at my hotel.

It's great to wake up, lounge by the pool in the morning, and head to the parks at your own pace. I've noticed that I don't attack the parks quite so hard when I am alone and standing in line is much less irritating.

Good times.
