How do you plead?

I'm quite perturbed: What should I do?

SirNim,

Libel (and slander) are civil actions so you can bet that the police won't get involved. :sohappy: And you are in the clear if your statement is true. Or... if a reasonable person would not consider the statement to be true (statements with the obvious intent of humor.)

I would be more concerned with the copyright owner of the photographs - headshots of the couple - that you are using for the shirts ... oh wait, that would be me! :lookaroun ha ha ha. You can use them to make the shirt. :sohappy:

I just wish I had posted higher quaility images (running out of space on wdwmagic photo album.) And by next week, there may be better quality/angle shots (from me or MKT.)

Rock on.

This thread is the exact reason why I love these boards. Everyone with a common interest (obsession) rallying together to be absolutely hilarious and helpful at the same time.

This thread was the highlight of my week/month and I can't wait for Rob's next post.

Nim: If something becomes of those t-shirts, get a link up for us somewhere, I will definately get one.:hammer:

Also, as stated earlier, we need to somehow get one of the Kodak Picture Spot signs right in front of that. I would wet myself if I saw one there.:hammer:

You're slipping, Rob, remember to keep your eye on the prize!

And yes, we're better than the FBI :lookaroun

We should print their headshots on T-shirts with the caption "Wanted," wear the shirt to EPCOT and shop at their stand. ...or not.

:sohappy:

Then again, comparing the two pictures, maybe the one with Rob is better. There are times when distance is preferred.

PS Rob, don't get a big head...we're talking relative here

Wow

Been away for three days and I can't believe this thread is still going strong!...not only strong but even more hilarious then before.

I agree the t-shirt while funny as %^*^(, may not be the best idea. I don't see why the photo's can't be addressed as part of the formal complaint to Disney (along with a link to this thread!)

Just a point of interjection, but what if I was to buy the stand, take it home and take a picture of it? Would that also violate their bogus "copyright and patent"?

Another point, most pending patents and copyrights aren't listed on the USPTO/Copyright office until they are granted. If they are in a patent pending status, you'd have to call or write to the USPTO, I believe and get confirmation from them.

Regardless, these people were totally out of line.

Taking a picture of it at EPCOT (before you take it home) does not violate copyright to begin with, so whether or not you purchase it/bring it home is mute.

See my post early in this thread with more specific information on this topic.

P.S. Practical application: Think about it. If merely taking a picture of a commercial product was copyright infringement per se, copyright holders merely search ebay to find thousands upon thousands of infringers who feature pictures as part of their ad, not to mention ebay's liability. So why aren't thousands of suits being filed against ebay sellers? Because it is allowed.

I'd gladly be your wingman, but from a few thousands miles away I doubt I'd be that effective.

TK, I was concerned about that. But, now I am glad to have your permission! (I wouldn't have finalized my shop or my website without it)

And though they are of a rather grainy quality, I like the quality, because it makes it look like an undercover photo or a mug shot.

Concerning shirts:

I have sent an assistant of mine to scout for plain t-shirts in our immediate area, so I can get an accurate price.

Because I am running short on Iron-on Transfer Paper, I can only make THREE shirts.

THREE.

No more, no less.

Thus, I shall be issuing the shirts in a limited-edition supply of THREE, only.

(Which shall bump their value up even more - but still the price shall be quite reasonable! )

The first three orders I get, when I reveal the link to the website with instructions how to order, will be guaranteed a shirt.

If demand increases beyond that, I just do not know. Perhaps if I make enough money off of the first three I can buy another pack of Iron-on Transfer Paper and make some more. :)

I tell you, CafePress would be SUCH an easier option for me than to do all of this work! But, their site specifically forbids any slanderous or otherwiser offensive images. And even though my image is certainly in the context of humor, and is not to be taken seriously (just like myself), all I need is for Mr. Nizin to find out and notify CafePress and boot my shop off that website forever.

So, I shall stick with my game plan and create a limited-edition set of three, custom, made-to-order "uncensored" t-shirts. If demand increases (which I most definitely doubt), maybe I'll find a lucrative way to print more shirts.

:)

So, once I can finalize a price, based on my assistant's report, I can link you all to my Geocities webpage with ordering instructions...
And remember, the first three people to place an order will be guaranteed a shirt. A truly collectible shirt.
Made as a collector's item, although it can be worn. (I printed a homemade shirt for my last vacation to Florida last month and I wore it a few days down there, even got it washed, went on Splash Mountain, got it wet, it didn't bleed. So although you can wear it, it you do, and by some strange accident the image starts to peel or something, I'm sorry... Unless it's a manufacturing error, no refunds or exchanges! I guarantee its quality only based on if it's never worn! or washed...)

Fantastic webiste! I like the whole saving your butt from a lawsuit by having the spiel about being associated with Nature on the Rocks.

P.S. Someone should ask the guy if they can buy a planter, take a picture of it, then return it immediately for a full refund.

I gotta save my skin! If they're playing the legal card, with patents and protecting copyrights and stuff, why don't I do the same? :)

I think one should be reserved for Brent, so you should only take one more order. Brent really should have one of these.
