so he starts saying all the French stuff!

You should have seen her face!

He can't get her to respond, so then he hits my shoulder and starts asking me, in French?, if I could translate for him!

It's classic! I thought he was asking her if he could take photos...and she says NO! Then he shakes his head and gestures towards his wallet about a business card...

she gets no clue...

I stay there w/ the girls, mkt walks away briefly...in disgust...after ripping the pricelist off the table...tape and all:lol:

Then he comes up to me and says 'CANADA' and gestures over towards the pavillion. Well, now they know we're together, so I say 'Ya, ya...we can go over to Canada if you like...come on girls, we're done here!...and mkt's kind of pulling me away...

We didn't stop till we were out of their sight line!

I wanted to go back...you know...get the girls to take some of the stuff off the tables and play w/ it!

Great job, bringing your girls along was a great idea

As for that photo... Now it's US and Foreign copyrights.
   That man must have some serious money to afford all those copyrights.
Did you happen to see any sign prohibiting photos?

Great job guys! Lovin' It!

Are there any other talks of BLATENT picture taking scheduled for the future? This was good with the French and all but I was hoping for more of a confrontation other than frustration with not being able to speak French and sneaking the pictures with the camera that looks like a cell phone.

I think it would be great for someone to video tape this knucklehead while someone comes up with the big honkin' SLR camera snapping away at his "creations". When the guy gets in someone's face about the pictures, the reponse could be something like "I'm investigating copyright infringement."

How old are your girls? It would probably be tough keeping 10 year olds inconspicuous during the whole thing without a smirk here and there. That is of course if your girls are around that age.

I'm bringing my camcorder this weekend :D I don't have a "big honkin' SLR camera" but close enough :).

Isn't it law that Patent numbers be visible or availible upon request. I know most consumer items when posted on the packaging that it is patented usually has the patent numbers somewhere else on the package or inside with the instructions. I wondering if this is a law? anyone?

I think you are correct, but I'd like some definate word on that. I sure hope so, because I'd know what to ask for next week, and the laws that can back up my request. :)

Yes the picture you took only said copyrights but according to Badger Brent he claimed he had patents. Regardles of wether he actually claimed to have patents or not, I was just exploring that possibility. And I think we can conclude that he doesn't have patents or copyrights on those planters.

I've got a "Janice E. Nizin (1947 -...)" on copyright.gov...

It doesn't appear though that any of the 16 items copyrighted by her have anything to do with garden accessories...

Well, regardless, hilarious story!

Funny how they have a little scrap of paper with "all designs protected..."

What a load... :sohappy:

This has only whetted my appetite - I cannot wait for Round Three to commence!

My favorite thread of all time

Someone needs to breakout the old-school vhs camcorder (shoulder use style) to let this guy know he is being watched in plain view. I'd like to see him act up then. Cmon, bring us more.

HAHA! :sohappy:

I think that sums up everything just fine...

and... [shameless plug] I still have one t-shirt left if anybody wants it featuring the image of this hapless duo frenetically sniffing out would-be photographers of their cheap garden accessories! [/shameless plug]
