True, but now you're stuck in an evacuation with no way out if your flight home was Sunday. If MCO is closing Saturday, MIA will be closing then too, if not earlier. Will the airlines consider your flight rebooking a priority over new bookings? If there are any flights left to book....

Last I heard, Orange County schools remain open tomorrow (Friday).

We left at 11:00 today- took us til around 4:30 to cross the Florida state line. Georgia and SC are just as bad. We are not even to Charleston yet. I-95 is horrid.
It was a list quickly shown on TWC. Found it odd Jax was in the mix, unless it was cancellations of flights to South Florida.

Gov. Scott has ordered all public schools, universities closed for Friday and Monday.
Hadn't heard about the universities. There goes Saturday's game. But preparing for the storm is more important.

Just found this. Totally stinks if true. There's a lot of people who went with flights late Friday and Saturday morning.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Airports in Florida remain open despite slowdown as the FAA manages the volume of flight traffic.
A Traffic Management Program is in effect for Miami International Airport, Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Int’l Airport and Orlando International Airport. There wasn’t a ground stoppage, but aircraft were delayed in order to increase the spacing between flights in the air.
Dozens of departures and arrivals were cancelled Thursday at MIA due to Hurricane Irma.
MIA hub carrier American Airlines announced that it will begin the process of stopping operations at the airport on Friday afternoon. That stands for Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers and West Palm Beach, as well.

Literally insignificant at this point but...
Its going to be tough to reschedule what will likely be 2 games (ULM,UM). We're at one loss already and only rescheduling one of those two basically kills any chance we had at making it to the CFP.

Thanks, hope everyone stays safe. People are driving crazy. For anyone driving through up thru SC, it has cleared out a bit in the past few miles for now.
It does, but the "delayed in order to increase the spacing between flights in the air" says it all. You can only put so many flights in the air at one time. And airlines will want to start repositioning as many aircraft as they can ahead of the storm. Safety of those passengers flying is paramount.
Figure on airport closures happening from south to north, and likely in rapid succession. MCO has already stated it's closing at 5pm tomorrow (Friday), so my guess is MIA will likely close around then if not sooner, and FLL and JAX likely to close soon after.

UM game is likely to be rescheduled for 10/7. If they do cancel ULM it won't be made up (like our game against Arkansas State).

Orlando is closing first? Why? Many people booked flights out of Orlando to specifically avoid this.

ULM just got cancelled. Good to know about UM, gives a little more time for Blackman to prepare. Good luck to you if you're riding this storm out anywhere in FL!

MCO is closing on Saturday, not Friday.
