We were in WDW immediately after Hurricane Irma in 2017. We drove in the day after it passed through. It was the BEST time to be in the parks, they were empty because so many changed/canceled their plans because of the hurricane.

Arriving Tuesday, fingers crossed that a miracle happens and this doesn’t affect our trip too much. It’s just a wait and see right now; weather changes everyday. We’re scheduled to be at HS on Wednesday and just hoping that by Thursday it’s all clear and the weather is better because we have tickets to MNSSHP.
Pack a lot of patience. With intense weather related , parks close or have shortened hours and a number of attractions and shows, dining etc impacted.

Just realized while reading this thread that catastrophic storms cause me less anxiety than thinking about cars in these times.
When the mayor of Houston told the city to evac with a prediction of a hurricane coming their way, it was 9 hours and more to get out of the city. Some cars ran out of gas on the roads leading out of Houston.

Looking forward to the parade of "salt life" people evacuating from the Gulf coast.
Tom Brady’s multi million dollar mansion right on the water’s edge in Tampa will be having a huge rain event. That flood insurance will come in handy.

The Tampa Bay Rays are also scheduled to be playing at home this weekend against Toronto. Despite being an indoor stadium, I wonder if they will cancel the series or just relocate up to Canada for the series. It might inconvenience the dozen Rays fans planning on attending, but at least will keep everyone safe.

Why would anyone buy expensive seats? Buy the cheap seats and just saunter over to behind home plate.

A cancellation is gonna dump an extra 38 people into the Clearwater Olive Garden 😎

Except the Hurricane is projected to be a Major storm at 8 am Weds landfall.
A number of home insurance companies are pulling out of FL to limit exposure on claims etc, leaving homeowners scrambling to find a company that will write them a policy. A huge hurricane will for sure bankrupt some companies with many claims being filed, like it has done before.
