Unless the state implements the one way evacuation plan for highways in the area: I-4, I-75, the Turnpike - those roads can become parking lots. UNLESS ordered to evacuate, the best plan is to shelter in place.
Unless you had the foresight to leave Saturday or Sunday...

I cannot believe Disney hasn't posted the parks closing information. How irresponsible.
Both should have announced it yesterday. We knew last night that we were going to be impacted by heavy rain/winds even without a direct hit.

I guess they thought tourists would love to be stuck at a park for 8+ hours with constant rain, walkways flooded and all outdoor attractions closed.

Port Canaveral is at “Condition Yankee.”
There’s a good chance that the Disney world will be delayed coming in.
Add a number of sailings may have been canceled. I’m not posting them here, but please contact your cruise line if you’re planning to sail out of Port Canaveral between now and Friday.

I agree. It should have been announced yesterday. Continuing to delay the closing announcement is continuing to put people in danger who should be getting the hell out of town, but are staying because the parks *may* remain open.

That tells me that people are willing to put themselves in danger, versus Disney putting them in danger.

They are adults, they can make their own decision to leave. Does not matter when Disney/Universal makes an announcement. To place blame on the parks as whether one stays or leaves is foolish.

Not only that, but I saw people with flights on Monday and today that were still flying in for parties (at both Uni and Disney). There are people out there that believe since the events haven't been canceled that means it's safe to still come. The expectation being if the situation were critical the places affected and with relevant experience would be proactive.

It tells me that people without hurricane experience are relying on those that do for guidance. And when the social media accounts are saying, there are no closure plans, people believe them.
