Not only that, but I saw people with flights on Monday and today that were still flying in for parties (at both Uni and Disney). There are people out there that believe since the events haven't been canceled that means its safe to still come. The expectation being if the situation were critical the places affected and with relevant experience would be proactive.

It tells me that people without hurricane experience are relying on those that do for guidance. And when the social media accounts are saying, there are no closure plans, people believe them.
Yep.

I call it Darwinism. If people have to be told to not go to an area that is expecting hurricane conditions, they only have themselves to blame. Why the need to blame others for one's own action?

Always that person who goes with the negative narrative without having a clue as to what is actually happening. Disney puts enormous resources into helping cast members, guests and even the general public during events such as this. It is going on now as we speak.
If you want to push your agenda as portraying Disney as a money grubbing corporation, feel free to do so but this situation is not the time nor is it even remotely accurate.
LOOL. Tell it to the DVC family that they’re booting from the resort on the same day all flights are cancelled

They are adults, they can make their own decision to leave. Does not matter when Disney/Universal makes an announcement. To place blame on the parks as whether one stays or leaves is foolish.
Adults also are required to staff the parks, and there are a lot of coercive factors in hourly wage employment that would have cast members putting themselves in danger even if they know they should not. Parks don't run on pixie dust.
