How do you pass the time on your way to Disney?

Generally, most of us have to take the long trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, either by driving, taking a bus, or flying on the plane. Considering the time it takes my family driving to Disney World in a RV, its about a day or two before we arrived. With a friend along for the ride, the usual way we spend the time away is by playing some board games and hitting up some movies, and during the sleepy hours, some musical tones.

So my question is, how do you pass the time on your way to Disney?

Well in my case I suppose I pass it by staring ahead at endless interstate like a zombie for 15 hours...while my custom Disney/Disney World soundtrack plays of course

I suppose I am not a good example (we live about 15 minutes from Disneyland) and most of the time we just decide to stop by while we are in the area....LOL Sometimes we drive there on purpose though and we just talk.

I do all the driving, so I pass the time by looking ahead at the road and the sights along the road.

My wife likes to bring a magazine or two and maye a book or two. Last year was our first time taking our son, so my wife passed some of the time sitting back there with him, watching movies and coloring.

On every previous trip we drove down in a RV so I spent some time sleeping on the bed in the back or hanging out with the family up front, play some games...was a great time and made the long trip feel short.
Next trip will be in a car so I'll try to sleep a lot and watch some movies. I would read but I don't like reading in the car, makes me feel sick.

Sleep is the best thing for me. We're about 15 or so hours from WDW, and I always pack so much stuff specifically for the ride down there and back so that I can be entertained, and I usually never use any of it just because I mostly sleep. Sleeping really is the best thing for me and I think anybody as it makes the time go by the quickest.

We spend the six or so hour drive listening to Disney music and podcasts and making up Disney trivia (movies, parks, etc.) to ask each other. Most likely our little boys are with us, so a general amount of refereeing must be included!

Sleeping. I fly from California to Orlando on a red-eye every year. One less night to pay for and 5 hours of sleep!

We usually fly so I bring a book, but it doesn't distract me from feeling every bump. I was drugged last trip and that made the time go faster. hehe This time we are driving, the first time since our daughter was 5 and she is now
14. So there will be an Ipod, portable DVD player, games and lots of talking. Oh we usually play the license plate game or the alphabet game. We are going to make it a great adventure!!

1 hour drive to the airport - Bounce up and down, giggle, cheer.

14.5 hour flight from Sydney to LA - Drug the kidlets, read, listen to ipod, sudoku, shift around uncomfortably, nap for 5 minutes.

5.5 hour flight from LA to Orlando - Play DS, snack, play card games with kids.

DME to WDW - Fall into coma, wake up drooling, sleepwalk to check-in.

Besides the snacks and Disney music we listen to the comedy channel, oldies channel and Elvis channel on the Sirius radio on our 15 hour drive.

We usually just chat with whomever is driving us across the border to the airport. Once there, we usually have a few puzzle books and magazines, a novel and DH iPod. Thankfully our flight is only about 2.5 hours. I've never managed to sleep on a flight although it sure would make things go by much more quickly.

We fly so we watch movies or TV shows we download and count the minutes until landing-3 hours feels like an eternity when you're dying to see Mickey!!
