Then you dont have to go to it when it comes.

Honestly, with all the different attractions, rides, and shows in WDW, people here are obsessing over the return of one show? Talk about giving a whole new meaning to the word fanatic.
Calling people fanatic for stating their opinions is reckless on your part. I have seen Captain EO and was not a fan of it when it was here. How is that being fanatic? I just would like to see something new. Also you do not have to tell me that I do not have to go to it, I am pretty sure I can figure that out thanks.

Don't really care, but if it is a sign of a Imagination pavilion refurb, I love it.

It is not a sign of a refurb while it is not taking any money from the refurb it is a waste of time imo because as long as EO is there, there will be no refurb.

Thank you.

I too want to see the theater refurbed. If it means EO comes in for a year, I'd rather that, than have HISTA fill the theater for the next year. This could actually be a good thing. I know a lot of people are afraid of this prolonging the refurb of the theater/pavilion, but personally I think it will have the opposite effect. I'd like to think EO won't stay more than a year (anything more IMO would be pushing it) When the time comes to change out films, I don't see them going back to HISTA. That would be like switching from one retro film to another. I think after EO they'll want something fresh in there, so this might actually help the process if you think about it.

Thank you. Why does this site always come to a war with 2 sides bickering about something. If you don't like it, don't go.

And I won't but it is a waste of money to replace a show with a show that is twice as old, it makes no sense.

Heading for the great escape.
Its not something Ill be hurdling over coffin dodgers to go see. Not a fan of the concept or the weirdo it features. Certainly not worth wasting drinking time on.

From what I hear now and I think Martin or Lee confirmed it HISTA will return. This just doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm confused as to how or why an old, outdated show that ran it's course a decade ago is returning to "Future World". Not a lot of future or progress going on here. Because of that fact I feel like it makes the Disney Gods come off as sell-outs. This feels like a marketing choice which we've seen repeatedly being not the best way to go when it comes to continuity of story (ie. The wand & the BAH). When marketing is put before story it just isn't something that's set to be a major success. Do I think HISTA is any better a fit for the location? Nope. The entire pavillion including the theater & show need an overhaul in the worst way. Seriously.

I'm happy for those who haven't seen EO to have this opportunity. Then again, it can prob'ly be seen over on Youtube & not cost WDW a nickel....which could be better spent elsewhere.

My prediction is a lot of the folks who are so hyped to see it will walk out of the theater afterwards thinking "Wow. That's 17 minutes of my life I can't get back". Yes, I did see it back in the day (for the poster who indicated that those who didn't like it were prob'ly people who never saw it...my 1st trip to WDW was in 1976, was a local when EPCOT Center opened, & went there the 1st time in early 1983). I remember being extremely giddy to see it because I was a preteen girl & MJ was the shiz-nit at the time. In retrospect, I recall being kinda surprised by how anti-climatic & disappointing it was. I guess we expected something of the same calibur as the "Thriller" video (watched that premiere live on Mtv) which it truly is not. While MJ's dancing was cool, the script & acting paired with the strangely soft voice the man had just made the rest seem sorta crappy. I recall very clearly leaving the show thinking "That sucked. Let's go back up to the Imageworks". Unfortunately today Imageworks isn't anything to return to either. I only saw EO once. I wouldn't waste any of my time going back to see it again.

Anything that gives an 80s vibe to the park, even temporarily, is a good thing, since that 80s vibe is Epcot's bread and butter.

Not to say I don't like technology or coherent, magically "enchanced" new attractions that take us forward into the 22nd Century rather than back into the 1980s past.

Here's my 2¢ on the subject. Captain EO originally was in HISTA before HISTA which is really the Magic Eye theater. As I didn't see it in the 80's, I want to see it now at least once. I'm sure its pure 80's cheese, but worth at least a watch.

To me, bringing back Retro Shows or parades, attractions, etc is better (no matter how bad it is) than letting it sit stagnant. It shows that there is at least someone in WDO thinking about the parks and attempting to make changes, and I'm all for that, retro or new.

So much for the American justice system....he was proven innocent....why can't people move on?

Agreed.

My take on MJ: He was a naive, mentally ill adult that happened to have a ton of talent. He put himself into dangerous situations that allowed him to be taken advantage of when he had nothing but good intentions.

And if you actually did your homework, you would see that the first kid was busted lying about it, even though he was paid off to just get him off his back. MJ did this so it wouldn't hurt the kid as he knew the parents were behind it. The second kid that filed a lawsuit admitted after MJ's death that his parents also were the brainchild behind it all just for a quick buck. If it was fact that this happened, how come the DA never pressed charges? They weren't after charges, they were after a civil suit. It's ok though, I don't expect everyone to be educated on the subject. Just don't generalize.

Whatever happens...Happens.

I can't even begin to describe how appropriate this Spike quote is to how I also feel on the matter.

I'm just excited to have a nice day coming up at Epcot that'll include getting to see it, and hopefully buying the snazzy 80's Sci-Fi logo T-Shirt.

Oh well excuuuuussssse me. Lol. There's nothing wrong with stating an opinion. I'm just saying with all the other millions of things to do on property, people are getting uptight over one show? Please. Being so caught up with its return, screams fanatic. We all are, thats why we're here. Either way, we are definately in the minority as I'm sure the general public will be lined up to see the show. It's not a guarantee, but it will have longer lines than HISTA.

Nothin reckless about pointing out the obvious either.

Fanatic!?! That's what WDWMagic is for! Heck, we have full threads dedicated to bathrooms and missing tiles!!! This thead is actually worth discussing!

I, for one actually don't care! I'm in the "meh" catergory too! Don't care for it... but I'm not upset b/c of it. If someone is excited for its return... then good for them!

Ya, and those are the real fanatics but thats how some folk are.

You may not be upset by it, but some people make it sound like its the end of the world. Like they wont be able to enjoy their trips because of EO.

Well the show that its replacing isnt cutting it, Its not bringing people in. So replace it with something that will bring people in. Make the turnstyles turn, more foot traffic. That makes perfect sense.
