I understand well I am hoping that it will be open memorial day weekend as thats when i am going. I heard that even though manta track is done it has alot of other stuff to be done and this coaster is doing everything at once. anyone hear anything like that im not trying to be annoying but I am kinda going down there for manta, simpsons ride and this one. what percent chance do you guys think it will be open by then

According to the latest media day at SeaWorld, they were supposed to test the trains on the track starting late last week or early this week. I have not seen or heard of that taking place, but with the time change, they could be doing it after the park closes or before the park opens.

They also said they are on track to start filling up the water areas in the coming weeks at Manta. Here's the Orlando Sentinel article with that information.

As to the Uni coaster, who knows. I hope sooner than later, but who knows. Start doing a "Hurry up and open" dance to the coaster gods!

Hopefully it will be up and running by around June 13. I got my free Super Bowl ticket in the mail yesterday and I guess I'll be going to Universal this year. I haven't been in about 4 years, but you can't beat free.

Just so everyone knows...the coaster now has the lift hill in place. Only 1 piece is missing from the top part of the tower. (and that was about an hour ago, so it may be done now!)
The circuit should be complete in the next few hours, if not Tomorrow.

Excellent. I guess I can hope that a soft opening will be going on during mid-June.

I know that according to a construction supervisor I talked to yesterday morning Universal is pushing to have it open for July 4th, so I would expect soft openings in June if that is the case.

^ cool pics :)
I don't know why but i was expecting a vertical drop on the other side of the lift hill as it is with most coasters with a vertical lift, i can only assume this is to save space?

I imagine those pics were taken yesterday? I was there and saw them working on it. Two workers hang in a little bucket from a giant crane and place the track pieces. Pretty crazy

I still think ths ride is to short, will cut the fun with all the break zones, and is taking away the theme of Universal Studios which is to RIDE THE MOVIES. In my mind it's just tall and very high tech but when coming to being a great coaster i give it a 5/10 just by looking at it. I mean i would rather go upside down then to become right side up

I've also been thinking about this, every other ride in the Studios has a tie to the movies and although this is called "Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit" i can't really see any tie to the movies :veryconfu and also i can't really see the point in a loop that doesn't go upside down, i mean i know its different but it just seems pointless.

I hope it surprises me though, i really want it to be better than i think its going to be :)
