HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Stark Expo just has a okay ride and a bad ride now, I think HKDL really needs a real great headliner to complete Stark Expo, I’m so doubtful that Spider-Man’s theme TOT will be good enough to make Stark Expo stand up as a own land.
Do we think ultimately space mountain gets re-themed to marvel? it could be in the same form or use the land behind for something like the guardians coaster?

imo I don’t like hyperspace mountain, I prefer space mountain remain original version, so I don’t want space mountain gets another re-theme. guardians coaster is so great but I don’t think HKDL will have two similar coasters in the same park. but nothing is impossible when tron built next to space mountain in Magic Kingdom, if HKDL want to build guardians coaster I’ll don’t mind it.

id really like to see that old concept art come back because that multilevel massive entrance area looks so spectacular imo. Need something like that in CA

Cosmic rewind is just such a good ride I doubt many people would mind it being right next to space mountain as part of stark expo, but I don’t know if Epcot has exclusivity on cosmic rewind, RNRC not so much but it would still be better than nothing

RNRC was made with limitations of the space and previous setup in mind so if its a coaster it will most likely be cosmic rewind as it will be in budget and would make sense as its not in any other park outside the US (would keep the government happy too) Plus its a thrill ride something the park is definitely lacking. But I still think between the two I see a TOT style ride over cosmic rewind simply because it just makes more sense two indoor coasters next to each other is probably not ideal. However has TOT style ride technology improved ? do we have any in the world that are new? (I know mission breakout but that's a re-imagineered not a fresh start maybe there's more they can do with it?

If they built TOT it would have to be the WDS/DCA/TDS version and not the DHS version (in terms of ride design not theme), the quinjet plot wouldn’t fit the DHS version due to its strange triangle shape

I know the main holdouts of support in HK for ocean park are teens and young adults who think Disney is for kids but I’m not sure more thrills rides is really the way to go, like FOP isn’t a thrill ride, it’s still worth a trip to DAK alone for how incredible it is, ROTR also isn’t a thrill ride

if iron man wasn’t sitting right there in the future rides courtyard I wouldn’t even be against another decent quality simulator for that area

Isn't there a way to use the space behind to make a better ride? (its separated by a train line currently) also something like cosmic rewind wouldn't fit in the current space I think this again comes back to the point Disney have really put themselves into a corner and probably can't figure a way out. A more modern tot will probably need a more normal shaped space, a large roller coaster will need more space. Maybe they're currently on the drawing board with Imagineers to figure out what to do.

Autopia used the entire space but that was because the tracks could easily go under or over the train line (like the residual piece that still encircles the old Star Wars stage)

Any building for a show would have to build a tunnel into the building for the train track and also ensure that said tunnel doesn’t impact the ride in any way

It’s possible but probably easier to just design the ride so that it fits in the normal plot, it was an operational nightmare but it’s why autopia was a good fit for that plot, since the tracks are so flexible

Personally I think it was silly to get rid of a ride without being sure you will replace the ride especially with the limited space available. Autopia was such a time filler ride. It was always empty in the HK park and felt very isolated since then the area with iron man doesn't feel so isolated isn't iron man also on the same land ?

I think it was due to its operational costs, the ride just wasn’t worth the staff to actually run it

I agree that it should have stayed till they were sure they were ready to start quinjet but I think they used the plans basically as an excuse to remove a ride they didn’t really want anyway

Do we know if the fea in hk is identical to Orlando I noticed the ride vehicles for hk had lap bars (or at least what looks like it) any idea why that would be needed?

Same layout but the show building is much larger from the old satellite images we have of them building the show building

I wonder if they have a bigger drop or something that requires the lap bars

New ride system from Intamin, using a custom 4 row spillwater boat. The lap bars originally designed for Escape from Pompeii are installed on the boats and it will have higher capacity than the Florida version.

it would be kinda nice if the drop included getting a bit of a splash, heaven knows HK needs a water ride

I do really expect the HK Paris and Tokyo versions to be better even if the story follows the same as the buildings are all custom built around the concept this includes the immersion and experience
