HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

now they just need to announce the mega E ticket that's coming for $5.2b HKD ($630m USD) before the end of the year and I think the park is looking good. I assume LEGCO will bring up Disney again after summer break I'm surprised they didn't push Disney more on the money that's already allocated.

Here's an additional piece of concept art Walt Disney Imagineering shared that didn't make it into the parks blog post.

Those renderings look GREAT! I just can't wait to visit Arendelle in person! šŸ˜šŸ˜
Those renderings have actually allayed a lot of my fears

Even if it doesnā€™t have a mega e ticket, a 2 ride, meet n greet, restaurant and gift shop that well themed will be a massive asset to HK, HKā€™s only really two massively themed areas are mystic manor and grizzly but both of them are only one ride and donā€™t have a lot else to sell their amazing theming

I'd say HKs adventure land is really nice probably the nicest from all mainly I think due to the fact that HKs climate can support those trees but it's very well themed.

Adventureland is probably the nicest of the legacy lands but it also kinda a waste of space for how few attractions it has, like if they had built jungle cruise outside of the train line (where grizzly and mystic are now) as an example they could have easily filled that space with something that would really make Adventureland shine, but as of right now itā€™s basically a giant space for a space inefficient jungle cruise

It feels almost like a land designed for DAK but with nowhere near DAKā€™s land space

I always thought Hong Kong needed an expansive land that you can explore and be immersed into. Arendelle seems like it will be just that which is great!

Now it just remains to be seen how big the land actually feels and if itā€™s explorable

Using HK as an example Adventureland is a large land that feels small, grizzly gulch is a small land that feels large

All the images and the maps we have seen show arendelle as a large land but it remains to be seen if it ā€œfeelsā€ like a large land

Wished paris version was as big as HK version of the land.
The Paris land has space to expand but yeah itā€™s current stage is disappointing, WOSS looks like itā€™s really going to help HK avoid the ā€œlarge land thatā€™s too emptyā€ problem Paris will have

One thing the only half realised Paris expansion had done has opened a huge amount of land for the park to expand around the new lake, currently the lake is going to be held up entirely by FEA on the far end but at least it gives the park potential

Just for reference this is a comparison of the two frozen lands (Iā€™ve excluded Tokyo because it doesnā€™t have a direct easy point of comparison)

In both of these renderings the FEA show building is almost an identical size

Is this area meant to be accessible, the plans say no but the satellite image seems to show it having path based landscaping

HK having its little trails and hidey holes I wouldnā€™t be surprised if this was supposed to play into the forest theme

Maybe thereā€™s a water feature there too HK needs more of them since the one in Tomorrowland is gone and thereā€™s nothing on this side of the park. Helps with those brutally hot and humid days

Anyone know when they will add water to the lake ?
That will probably be the last thing they do

Hong Kong just needs a water ride in general, Shanghai gets away with no ā€œliki tikiā€ areas because it has the water ride raging rapids

HK is around 5-6c warmer too in the hotter months. Anyway itā€™s so easy for Disney to add a water ride in HK they have so many ip options moana concept comes to mind or a unique grizzly gulch themed one. I think a water ride would go down well with the government too.
