HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Arguably Disney has learned that lesson, as it has never made that mistake again since HKDL.
They put an additional $800 million USD into Shanghai before it even opened to add more day one attractions. With that amount of money, you could’ve built another 2005 HKDL and still have change leftover.

Shanghai itself was arguably also “barely adequate” on day 1. Without Toy Story land and zootopia it had only 4 lands (gardens of imagination is not a land fight me) and a ride count of about 15

The fact that that lineup tilted more heavily e ticket definitely helped but they came dangerously close to another DCA style situation. Honestly the launch lineup between Shanghai and DCA is surprisingly similar.

i have absolutely no idea if this is credible, but according to recent rumors, this version of philharmagic is closing temporarily (dec to april)

That seems strange, there is little they can do with that plot (it “might” fit a small dark ride) and that side of fantasyland is empty enough as it is

But it also does align with the fact that they said they were doing at least one reimagining of an existing attraction

On the website it's listed as closed from December 1. Maybe they will finally add the new Coco scene.

I don’t think adding a scene would count as a reimagining of an attraction though.

Fun fact, Philharmagic was supposed to debut in HKDL before bringing it to the other parks, but was brought earlier to Magic Kingdom as Disney was trying to leverage negotiations with Steve Jobs.

the rumor that i looked at called it a "complete reimagining", so i wouldnt be surprised if this update serves as "philharmagic 2.0", to differentiate itself from it's overseas counterparts

I always wished Philharmagic had different scenes like Star Tours and they changed randomly. Imagine Donald trying to get the hat in a scene with Maleficent as the dragon, or in the lantern festival from Tangled, or at the Casita Madrigal, or while Maui sings You're Welcome, or at Elsa's ice palace... There are so many musical numbers that could be adapted for this attraction.

I would imagine this is unlikely as the 'reimagining' of Philharmagic was cancelled for WDW during COVID... all we ended up with was the Coco scene.

They havent officially announced any changes as of yet, i dont think a complete "reimagining" would go underway with such minimal fanfare
My money is on Hyperspace Mountain. The rumor is Paris is going to retheme theirs with an S.E.A element to it. Plus HK’s Tomorrowland is a mess and something needs to be done to change it from a dumping ground of incohesive IPs.
HKDL still has a fair chunk of money left as they haven’t even spent half of their expansion funds, so this reimagining should be a big one.

Why Paris doesn’t just return it to DLTALL I will never know, it’s always been the best theming of any space mountain and it actually fits the Jules Verne themed land

As for HK’s Tomorrowland space isn’t really the problem it’s more without the TOT e ticket holding start expo together stark expo doesn’t really feel like its own land so people lump it in with Tomorrowland. When they add TOT and “split” the lands properly then Tomorrowland basically goes back to how it was in launch. Launch Tomorrowland is neither antagonistic nor particularly inviting of themed space mountains
