Looks like the dream makers statue has been confirmed to be replacing sword in the stone

I always did find it strange HK never got a Walt statue

I have no idea if that will embed the video correctly but here is the inside of most of the wandering oaks queue

Also hearing news that they are considering building mystic point and stark expo/Tomorrowland train station which would be a nice boon for the railway line which has been kinda ignored since the park was built

I think there's always been something resembling like a station in mystic point so would make sense I think stark expo is too soon for a station mystic point makes sense for those outer lands. It will also help spread out the crowds. The park gets really busy on the Toy Story area by around 2pm maybe with a station some people will be pushed out there earlier like the parks tomorrow land looks very empty by afternoon

Stations and small upgrades are easy pickings, they don’t have to deal with LegCo on them

I want the park upgrades as well but I’ll take anything right now

There is no real clear path to how long it will take to announce something for that 5 billion since they have it sitting there but they want to focus on arendelle which is shaping up to be better and better by the day

It could be years till they actually announce something

won't starting the train line and having a huge construction site for whatever comes be a issue for the railway. This to me says that whatever is happening with the $5b isn't happening anytime soon

The train line would be fine, all they really need to do is add a platform, the train is manually controlled regardless

One platform for each station, it likely won’t close the line for very long

So I'd like to see the following things to still come out of this expansion. Would it be possible?

- Arendelle
- Mystic Point train station
- Stark Expo train station
- Avengers E-ticket
- New daytime parade
- Bring back Paint The Night parade with a new float (Frozen)
- Peter Pan's Flight into Philarmagic

All of that could easily be afforded if the e ticket was scaled back from the “mega e ticket” to generic e ticket to fill out the stark expo plot

Arendelle plus the castle, the stage, and the existing stark expo only cost the current 5 billion

A generic off the shelf e ticket (like a spider man TOT) plus what you requested could probably be afforded plus another half land

Fairly certain the HKDL Railroad train seats face inward around the loop, and the existing Mystic Point station is on the wrong side of the tracks for that. Is there a way to make this functional without retrofitting the train cars?

They do face inwards, though there is a bit of space between the train line and the jungle cruise

They could likely just build a station on the inside and leave the current stage/train station as it is

True it’s the problem of the legacy parts of HK, it’s all so….phoned in for want of a better word, it just feels like a second gate masquerading as a castle park, they didn’t seem to put in any effort for those small details to make it feel like a castle park

To be fair grizzly, mystic point, the additions to fantasyland, the castle and arendelle have done wonders to fix this problem but part of the old lands that haven’t been changed still suffer from this problem

When I walk into the park I've noticed from the original lands that tomorrow land as a theme just doesn't work in Hong Kong especially now where half the land is occupied by avengers related attraction. Fantasyland is a tough one where it is lacking a dark ride and has too many food options and almost seems like the park is pushing everyone too the land to eat. Honestly Philarmagic needs to go and dark ride needs to come in. If there isn't space for a traditional dark ride would an Aladdin or Peter Pan focused soarin style ride work ? is there space for this? I'm there is space in Main Street to add a 4d show instead that would make a lot more sense.

I do eventually feel a tot style avengers ride will come to hk I think there is space limitations and all there so I can't really see a mega E-ticket coming in. I'm also expecting with the rest of the budget either re-imagine and update certain rides or just build a second e-ticket in either Adventureland theming or grizzly gulch theming with a splash mountain

Tomorrowland as a theme is more the “Tomorrow of yesterday” or idealising the thought of what people from the 50’s thought the future would be like, it’s not exactly a flawed theme even in hypermodern cities like Shanghai and Hong Kong it’s just that like the rest of the legacy lands they really phoned it in on HK

I actually think with arendelle HK fantasyland is kinda fine, replacing phillharmagic with another dark ride wouldn’t move the dial much for me, fantasyland already has 6 attractions, 2 walk throughs and 2 shows

I also think the mega e ticket with be sacrificed for a cheaper e ticket that allows for movement elsewhere but I’m not sure what that movement will be right now, east grizzly seems like the obvious choice but if they are still building a regular e ticket for stark expo then their budget isn’t going to be massive

Looks like in august annual pass holders will be able to view and sit on the new Walt statue seat in the “hall” (which I’m assuming is where duffy’s playhouse is right now)

They are also going to be releasing a Merch line for it

How do you think fantasy springs is going to affect HK, HK’s arendelle is technically larger and has 2 rides while fantasy springs has 1 but that one looks set to be an e ticket and it has a sit down restaurant

Beyond that though fantasy springs is roughly the same size as the entire legacy HKDL and is already attached to the best of the 12 Disney parks would there be much overlap that would pull guests away from HK, it’s not like HK can take much more punishment but a land the size of a park with 4 e tickets just a 2 hour plane flight away is likely going to have at the minimum a perception issue

Is there much overlap between HKDL and TDL visitors?

I would think HKDL is already losing the guests with enough interest to fly to Tokyo to visit the parks as there is already so much more at TDLR. If the market for HKDL is those closer by (either due to where they live or the fact they're visiting Hong Kong), then I would think the impact would be negligible particularly as TDL is not likely to be marketing the new additions in those markets.
